About Jehovah Saints Homeless Shelters Our Mission: To provide Christ-centered shelter, care, and support services to individuals and families experiencing homelessness, empowering them to achieve stability and self-sufficiency while restoring their dignity and hope through the love of God. Volunteer Program Overview Volunteer Opportunities: There are many ways to get involved at Jehovah Saints Homeless Shelters, including: Serving meals in the kitchen or dining area. Assisting with administrative tasks. Organizing donation drives for clothing, hygiene supplies, or food. Providing job training or resume-building workshops. Offering spiritual support through Bible studies or prayer groups. Helping maintain the shelter’s cleanliness and organization. Benefits of Volunteering: Making a meaningful difference in the lives of others. Gaining valuable skills and experience. Building relationships with staff, clients, and other volunteers. Growing spiritually by serving others in Christ’s name. 3. Volunteer Policies and Guidelines Code of Conduct: All volunteers must adhere to the shelter’s Code of Conduct, which includes: Treating clients, staff, and other volunteers with respect and kindness. Maintaining confidentiality regarding clients’ personal information. Following all shelter rules and policies. Refraining from discriminatory, offensive, or inappropriate behavior. Attendance and Scheduling: Volunteers are expected to commit to their scheduled shifts. If you are unable to attend, please notify the Volunteer Coordinator as soon as possible. Punctuality is important. Arrive at least 10 minutes before your shift begins. Confidentiality Policy: Volunteers must respect the privacy of all clients. Do not share personal information about clients outside of the shelter. Any questions about confidentiality should be directed to the Volunteer Coordinator or a staff member. Safety and Security Guidelines: Always follow staff instructions in the event of an emergency. Report any safety concerns, incidents, or suspicious behavior to staff immediately. Volunteers are not permitted to bring weapons, drugs, or alcohol onto the premises. 4. Volunteer Roles and Responsibilities Key Volunteer Positions: Meal Service Volunteer: Prepares, serves, and cleans up meals in the kitchen and dining area. Donation Organizer: Sorts and organizes donated items such as clothing, hygiene products, and food. Program Assistant: Supports staff in running workshops, classes, or Bible studies. Administrative Volunteer: Assists with office tasks such as data entry, filing, or answering phones. Facilities Volunteer: Helps with cleaning, organizing, and maintaining the shelter’s facilities. Expectations for Volunteers: Be compassionate and patient with clients. Follow instructions from staff and supervisors. Maintain a positive and professional attitude. Dress appropriately for your role (e.g., closed-toe shoes for kitchen work). 5. Training and Support Orientation and Training: All volunteers must attend an orientation session before beginning their service. This session will cover: The mission and values of Jehovah Saints Homeless Shelters. Volunteer roles and responsibilities. Safety and emergency procedures. Additional training may be provided for specific roles, such as meal service or program assistance. Staff Support and Supervision: The Volunteer Coordinator is your primary point of contact for scheduling, questions, and concerns. Shelter staff are available to provide guidance and support during your shift. 6. Emergency Procedures Fire Evacuation: Follow staff instructions to evacuate the building. Use the nearest exit and proceed to the designated meeting area. Medical Emergencies: Notify a staff member immediately if a client, volunteer, or staff member is injured or ill. Do not attempt to administer medical care unless you are trained to do so. Other Emergencies: In the event of a security threat or other emergency, follow staff instructions and remain calm. 7. Hebrews 13:2 Do not neglect hospitality to strangers, for by doing so, some have entertained angels without knowing it. Jehovah Saints Put God First King David said, "Whom have I in heaven but You? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside You." ~ Psalm 73:25 Faith in Praying, Fasting to Resist Demons, Devils: Matthew 17:18-21 Jesus rebuked the devil, and he departed from him, and the child was cured from that very hour. Then came the disciples to Jesus and said, “Why could we not cast him out?” Jesus said unto them, “Because of your unbelief; for verily I say unto you, if ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, ‘Remove hence to yonder place,’ and it shall remove. And nothing shall be impossible for you. However, this kind (devil) goes not out but by prayer and fasting.” James 4:7 "Submit yourselves therefore to Jehovah. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." Faith in Laws: God Jehovah gave us 10 Laws to live by, all other laws are man's laws. The Bible is a History Book of man’s laws: In Romans 14, what is Sin to one person is Not Sin to another person. Stronger Faith People understand this, and do not tempt the weaker faith with what the weaker faith might consider wrong. Some of Man's Laws: Exodus 35:2 "Six days work shall be done, but on the seventh day you shall have a Sabbath of solemn rest, holy to the LORD. Whoever does any work on Sabbath shall be put to death." Deuteronomy 23:2 "A bastard shall not enter into the congregation (Church Building) of the LORD; even to his tenth generation shall he not enter into the congregation (Church Building) of the LORD." Leviticus 20:13 "If a man also lies with mankind, as he lies with a woman, they shall surely be put to death." None of the above are God's Laws, but man's laws. 10 Laws are all God gave us. Jesus did NOT like the High Priest at the Temple at ALL. Jesus said to the High Priest at Temple, "You are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father you will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of lies. And because I tell you the truth, you believe me not." John 8:44-45 Faith in Jesus: Jehovah's Son, "Jesus," Ruler Over All Kings of Earth. Revelations 1:5 "Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, is the firstborn from the dead, and Jesus is the ruler of the kings of the earth." John 12:28-31 Jesus said, “Father Jehovah, glorify thy name. Then came a voice from heaven, Jehovah, saying, I have both glorified it and will glorify it again… This voice came not because of me, but for your sakes. Now is the judgment of this world; now will the ruler of this world be cast out.” Faith in Jehovah: Jehovah is the Father God, and Jesus is His Son The name Jehovah holds profound significance in the Judeo-Christian tradition. It is a name that encapsulates the divine attributes and serves as a powerful symbol of God’s presence and authority. Let us explore the biblical references where this sacred name appears in the King James Version (KJV). 1. Psalms 83:18 "That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth." In this verse, the psalmist acknowledges God’s supremacy by emphasizing that His name—JEHOVAH—stands alone as the highest authority over the entire earth. 2. Isaiah 12:2 "Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation." Isaiah extols the Lord as the source of salvation, emphasizing that JEHOVAH is not only the strength of His people but also their song of deliverance. 3. Exodus 6:3 "And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them." In this passage, God reveals His name, JEHOVAH to Moses, highlighting its significance as a revelation distinct from His previous interactions with the patriarchs. 4. Isaiah 26:4 "Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in JEHOVAH is everlasting strength." Isaiah emphasizes that JEHOVAH provides unwavering strength—an eternal foundation for trust and reliance. 5. Genesis 22:14 "And Abraham called the name of that place JEHOVAHjireh: as it is said to this day, In the mount of the Lord it shall be seen." 6. Exodus 17:15 "And Moses built an altar, and called the name of it JEHOVAHnissi:" 7. Judges 6:24 "Then Gideon built an altar there unto the Lord, and called it JEHOVAHshalom: unto this day it is yet in Ophrah of the Abiezrites. Remember, the King James Version preserves the sacredness of this name, allowing us to connect with the Almighty through the ages. Other translations have removed God's name JEHOVAH in the Bible, and some translations have removed JEHOVAH all together and replaced it with the name Lord. "The More You Know" Faith in Eternal Life: John 17:3 And this is eternal life—that they know you, the only true God, Jehovah, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent. Matthew 25:46 And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous will go into eternal life. John 5:24 Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes Jehovah who sent me Jesus, has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life. How to Endure Temptation? James 1:13-18 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted by Jehovah: for Jehovah cannot be tempted with evil, nor tempteth he any man: But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away from his own lust, and enticed... Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of Lights, with whom there is no variableness, no shadow of turning. Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of first fruits of his creatures. Jesus and His Relationship with God No One Has Seen God Except Jesus: John 1:18 states, “No one has ever seen God; the only God, except Jesus, who is at the Father’s side, he has made him known.” This verse emphasizes that Jesus uniquely reveals God to humanity. If you’ve seen Jesus, you’ve encountered God’s Spirit in him, but you did not see God. The Bible states in Exodus 33:20 Jehovah says, “You cannot see my face, for man shall not see me and live.” Which means Jesus was not God, as if Jesus were God, then everyone would have died that looked upon Jesus. Jesus’ Words About His Father: Jesus acknowledges the Father’s greatness. He says, “My Father (Jehovah) is greater than I, Jesus” (John 14:28). Why Did Jesus Say, “Why Do You Call Me Good?”: When someone addressed Jesus as “good,” Jesus responded, “Why do you call me good? Jesus said, No one is good except God (Jehovah) alone” (Mark 10:18). Termination/Discharge Policy For Jehovah Saints Homeless Shelters Purpose Jehovah Saints is committed to providing a safe, supportive, and respectful environment for all individuals utilizing our homeless shelters. This Termination/Discharge Policy outlines the circumstances under which a guest may be discharged from the shelter, as well as the procedures to ensure fairness, transparency, and access to additional resources. Policy Statement Termination or discharge from Jehovah Saints Homeless Shelters will only occur when necessary to uphold the safety, well-being, and integrity of the shelter community. All decisions will be made with fairness, compassion, and an emphasis on connecting individuals to alternative resources whenever possible. Grounds for Termination/Discharge A guest may be discharged from the shelter for any of the following reasons: Violation of Shelter Rules: Repeated or severe violations of shelter policies, including but not limited to: Violence or threats of violence toward staff, other guests, or visitors. Possession, use, or distribution of illegal substances or alcohol on shelter property. Theft or destruction of property. Harassment, bullying, or discriminatory behavior. Safety Concerns: Behavior that poses a direct threat to the safety or well-being of the guest, other residents, or staff. Non-Compliance with Program Requirements: Refusal to participate in required programs or services, if such participation was agreed upon as part of the guest’s stay. Voluntary Departure: A guest may choose to leave the shelter at any time. Completion of Stay: The guest has successfully completed their stay and transitioned to permanent housing or another appropriate living arrangement.
