  • Understanding the Book of Jasher

Understanding the Book of Jasher: A Biblical Mystery and Historical Perspective The Book of Jasher  is one of the most intriguing ancient texts mentioned in the Bible, yet it is not part of the official canon. It is referenced twice in Scripture, leading many to wonder about its significance and whether it holds additional insights into biblical events. This lesson explores the history, content, and importance of the Book of Jasher, helping us understand its place in biblical studies. Biblical References to the Book of Jasher Though the Book of Jasher is not included in the modern biblical canon, it is mentioned in two passages in the Old Testament: Joshua 10:13  – "So the sun stood still, and the moon stopped, till the people had revenge upon their enemies. Is this not written in the Book of Jasher?" 2 Samuel 1:18  – "And he told them to teach the children of Judah the Song of the Bow; indeed, it is written in the Book of Jasher." These references indicate that Jasher was a well-known and respected historical record during biblical times. It was cited in connection with significant events, such as Joshua’s miraculous victory and David’s lament for Saul and Jonathan. What is the Book of Jasher? The Book of Jasher is traditionally regarded as a historical chronicle containing details about the patriarchs, biblical figures, and events  from creation to the time of Joshua. It is sometimes referred to as "The Book of the Upright" because the Hebrew word Jasher  (יָשָׁר) means "upright" or "just." The text claims to provide more details on biblical narratives , elaborating on events such as: Adam and Eve  in greater depth Noah and the flood , expanding on the warnings and preparations Abraham’s life , including additional encounters with God The Exodus , with extended descriptions of Moses and Pharaoh Joshua’s battles , mirroring biblical accounts However, it is important to note that the existing versions of the Book of Jasher are not the same as the ancient text referenced in the Bible . The versions available today are later works, some dating to the medieval period and others possibly composed even later. Is the Book of Jasher Part of the Bible? The Book of Jasher is not included in the official canon  of Scripture, meaning it is not recognized as divinely inspired like the books of the Old and New Testaments. The canon was carefully formed based on factors such as divine inspiration, prophetic authorship, and alignment with God’s teachings . While the references to Jasher in Joshua and 2 Samuel suggest it was a respected record, its full content has not been preserved in the same way as biblical texts . Some scholars believe the original Jasher was lost or destroyed over time. The versions we have today do not hold the same authority as Scripture. Lessons We Can Learn from the Book of Jasher Even though it is not part of the Bible, the Book of Jasher teaches some valuable lessons : History Matters:  The Bible often draws from historical records, showing that God works through real people in real moments in history. God’s Power is Evident:  The references in Joshua and 2 Samuel highlight God’s intervention in human events, reinforcing themes of His sovereignty and guidance . Faith and Obedience:  Whether looking at Joshua’s victories or David’s leadership, Jasher emphasizes the importance of trusting God’s plan  in all circumstances. Final Thoughts While the Book of Jasher is an interesting and historical text, it should not be viewed as equal to or replacing Scripture . Instead, it serves as a supplementary work that may provide additional context to biblical events. As believers, our primary focus should remain on the Holy Bible , which is divinely inspired and complete in its teachings. Key Scriptures for Further Study 2 Timothy 3:16-17  – "All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work." Deuteronomy 4:2  – "You shall not add to the word which I command you, nor take from it, that you may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you." Isaiah 40:8  – "The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God stands forever." • Serving with a Heart Devoted to God

Pastor Victor Otieno Odhiambo, the leader of Bethel Fellowship Centre and president of Jehovah Saints International in Kenya , delivered a powerful message in his Sunday service. His teaching was centered on Colossians 3:23-25 (NKJV) : "And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ. But he who does wrong will be repaid for what he has done, and there is no partiality." This scripture is a clear reminder that our work, whether in ministry, daily responsibilities, or personal efforts, should always be done with sincerity and devotion to God rather than seeking approval from people. When we serve with a heart committed to the Lord, we align ourselves with His will and receive eternal rewards that far exceed earthly recognition. Pastor Victor emphasized that true service comes from a heart willing to glorify God in all things —whether in small acts of kindness, diligent work, or overcoming challenges. When our focus shifts from seeking human validation to honoring God, our labor is not in vain. Jesus Himself demonstrated this principle throughout His ministry, serving others with love and humility. The Bible consistently reinforces this truth: Matthew 6:33  – "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you."  When our hearts are set on serving God, He ensures that our needs are met. 1 Corinthians 15:58  – "Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord."  Our efforts in the Lord’s service carry eternal significance. Pastor Victor encouraged believers to reflect on their motivations. Are we serving for recognition, or are we serving with an undivided heart toward God? The passage in Colossians 3:23-25  assures us that God is just—He sees all that we do, and He will reward faithful service while bringing justice upon wrongdoing. Ultimately, when we commit every action to Christ, we step into His purpose and experience the joy and fulfillment that comes from working for His glory. Let our service be a reflection of the love and devotion that Christ has shown us! • Fear Not, For Jehovah Is With You: A Powerful Message from Pastor Victor Odhiambo

Pastor Victor Odhiambo, the leader of Bethel Fellowship Centre in Kenya and President of Jehovah Saints International, delivered a moving and powerful sermon this past Sunday. His message centered on Isaiah 41:10-15, a passage that reassures believers of God’s presence, strength, and protection. Isaiah 41:10-15 – A Call to Fearlessness The scripture reads: "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."   (Isaiah 41:10) This verse is a reminder that Jehovah is always with His people, providing strength and assurance in times of trouble. Pastor Odhiambo emphasized that fear has no place in the life of a believer because God's presence guarantees protection and victory. Fear is Defeated by Faith Pastor Odhiambo's sermon encouraged the congregation to stand firm in faith, knowing that Jehovah fights battles on behalf of His children. Isaiah 41:13  – "For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, ‘Do not fear; I will help you.’" Psalm 27:1  – "The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid?" Faith and trust in God remove the power of fear. When believers fully rely on Jehovah, they gain courage and confidence, knowing that their steps are guided and protected. Victory Over Adversity Pastor Odhiambo highlighted that Isaiah 41:15 speaks of triumph over enemies and challenges: "See, I will make you into a threshing sledge, new and sharp, with many teeth. You will thresh the mountains and crush them, and reduce the hills to chaff."   (Isaiah 41:15) This scripture assures believers that obstacles, no matter how great, will be overcome by God’s power. Just as mountains and hills can be reduced to dust, difficulties and fears crumble before the presence of Jehovah. Gratitude for a Powerful Sermon The church service was truly a success, filled with God’s presence and encouragement for all in attendance. Pastor Odhiambo’s message served as a powerful reminder that fear should never dictate our lives—faith and trust in Jehovah lead to strength, courage, and victory. "I thank God for everything." His sermon reinforced that gratitude and unwavering faith go hand in hand. As believers, we are called to trust, to be fearless, and to always acknowledge the greatness of God in our lives. May this message continue to strengthen and encourage those who hear it, reminding them that Jehovah is always near, guiding and protecting His people. Conclusion: Join Us in Bringing Hope to the Homeless At Jehovah Saints, we are committed to being the hands and feet of Christ by providing safe shelters, warm meals, and hope to those in need. • "Sing a New Song to the Lord: A Call to Praise and Trust in God"

Pastor Victor Otieno Odhiambo, the leader of Bethel Fellowship Centre and President of Jehovah Saints in Kenya , delivered a powerful and inspiring message last Sunday, drawing from the rich and meaningful words of Isaiah 42:10-15. His message was a heartfelt call to worship, trust, and recognize the greatness and sovereignty of God in every part of our lives. Let us explore the essence of his message in a way that resonates with everyone. The passage from Isaiah 42:10-15 begins with a call to "sing a new song to the Lord," a song of praise that rises from every corner of the earth. Pastor Victor reminded us that this is not just about singing literal songs, but about living lives of worship and gratitude to God. It is about renewing our hearts and minds, offering Him fresh devotion each day, and acknowledging His mighty works in our lives. The "new song" represents a fresh perspective and a renewed faith in the Lord, even in the face of challenges. The scripture speaks of the whole earth joining in this praise —those in the sea, the islands, the deserts, and the mountains. Pastor Victor emphasized that this shows how God’s glory is universal and His love extends to all creation. He encouraged everyone to reflect on how we, too, can join this global symphony of praise. Whether we are at home, in our workplaces, or in the community, our lives should reflect the joy and gratitude of knowing God. In verses 13-15 , the passage shifts to describe God as a mighty warrior, going out to battle and triumphing over His enemies. Pastor Victor explained that this imagery reminds us of God’s power and His ability to fight for His people. When we feel overwhelmed by life’s struggles, we can trust that God is not distant or uninvolved. He is actively working on our behalf, clearing obstacles, and bringing justice. This is a source of great comfort and strength for believers, knowing that the Lord is our defender and protector. Pastor Victor also pointed out the significance of verse 14 , where God declares, "For a long time I have kept silent, I have been quiet and held myself back; but now, like a woman in childbirth, I cry out, I gasp and pant." This verse reveals God’s deep passion and commitment to His people. Even when it seems like God is silent, He is preparing to act in ways that will bring about His purposes. Just as a mother endures labor to bring forth new life, God’s actions are always for the good of His children. In conclusion, Pastor Victor urged everyone to take this message to heart . He encouraged us to praise God with renewed passion, to trust in His power and sovereignty, and to live in a way that reflects His love and glory. Isaiah 42:10-15 is a reminder that God is not only worthy of our praise but also deeply involved in every aspect of our lives. He is our Creator, our Defender, and our Sustainer. As we meditate on this passage , let us ask ourselves: Are we singing a "new song" to the Lord? Are we trusting Him to fight our battles? Are we living with the confidence that He is always working for our good? Let this be a time to renew our faith and commitment to God, knowing that He is worthy of all honor and praise. Scripture Reference: "Sing to the Lord a new song, his praise from the ends of the earth, you who go down to the sea, and all that is in it, you islands, and all who live in them. Let the wilderness and its towns raise their voices; let the settlements where Kedar lives rejoice. Let the people of Sela sing for joy; let them shout from the mountaintops. Let them give glory to the Lord and proclaim his praise in the islands. The Lord will march out like a champion, like a warrior he will stir up his zeal; with a shout he will raise the battle cry and will triumph over his enemies. For a long time I have kept silent, I have been quiet and held myself back. But now, like a woman in childbirth, I cry out, I gasp and pant. I will lay waste the mountains and hills and dry up all their vegetation; I will turn rivers into islands and dry up the pools." (Isaiah 42:10-15, NIV) May we all be inspired to live lives of worship and trust , joining creation in singing a new song to the Lord! Conclusion: Join Us in Bringing Hope to the Homeless At Jehovah Saints, we are committed to being the hands and feet of Christ by providing safe shelters, warm meals, and hope to those in need. • Future Cars Predicted in the Bible: A Look at Nahum’s Vision

The Bible is full of fascinating prophecies, many of which speak to events and advancements far beyond the time they were written. One such passage comes from the book of Nahum, a short yet powerful prophetic book in the Old Testament. While Nahum’s primary focus is on the judgment of Nineveh, a specific verse in his prophecy has often sparked curiosity and debate among Bible readers. Could this ancient text be describing modern-day vehicles? Nahum 1:1 The book of the vision of Nahum the Elkoshite. The Prophecy in Nahum In Nahum 2:4 , the prophet describes his vision, a vivid scene: "The chariots race madly through the streets; they rush to and fro through the squares; they gleam like torches; they dart like lightning." At first glance, this verse seems to describe chaos and activity in the streets of Nineveh, the capital of the Assyrian Empire. However, some Bible readers have speculated that this imagery could also be a glimpse into the future—specifically, a vision of modern transportation, such as cars or other fast-moving vehicles. Breaking Down the Vision Let’s take a closer look at the elements of this verse and why some believe it could be describing cars: "The chariots race madly through the streets" This phrase paints a picture of rapid movement and speed. In Nahum’s time, chariots were the fastest form of transportation, used in warfare and travel. Today, cars have replaced chariots as the primary mode of fast transport, and modern streets are filled with vehicles racing to and fro. "They rush to and fro through the squares" This could be interpreted as describing the hustle and bustle of modern cities, where cars and other vehicles move constantly through intersections, squares, and busy streets. "They gleam like torches" This phrase is particularly intriguing. In Nahum’s time, chariots would not have gleamed like torches unless they were adorned with fire or polished metal. But in modern times, cars with their headlights shining brightly at night could perfectly fit this description. The gleaming lights of vehicles on highways or city streets resemble torches lighting the way. "They dart like lightning" This imagery suggests incredible speed and agility. While chariots in Nahum’s day were fast for their time, they pale in comparison to the speed of modern cars, motorcycles, and even trains. The idea of vehicles darting like lightning seems to align with the quick movements of today’s transportation. What Was Nahum Really Talking About? It’s important to understand the context of Nahum’s prophecy. The book of Nahum is primarily a declaration of God’s judgment against Nineveh, the capital of the Assyrian Empire. Nahum uses vivid and poetic language to describe the city’s destruction, including its chaotic streets and the frenzied activity of its people and armies. From a historical perspective, Nahum was likely describing the chariots and soldiers of his time, emphasizing the turmoil and confusion during Nineveh’s downfall. However, the Bible is a living book, and its words often carry layers of meaning. Could God have inspired Nahum to describe something beyond his own time? Some believe this passage is an example of prophetic foresight, where Nahum unknowingly described future advancements like cars. Biblical Prophecy and Modern Technology The Bible has many examples of prophetic passages that seem to describe future events or technologies. For instance: Daniel 12:4 : “But you, Daniel, shut up the words and seal the book, until the time of the end. Many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase.” This verse has been interpreted by some to predict the rapid travel and technological advancements of the modern age. Revelation 9:9 : John’s vision of locusts with the sound of “many horses rushing into battle” has been compared to modern machinery, such as helicopters or military vehicles. Similarly, Nahum’s description of chariots racing and gleaming like torches could be seen as a glimpse into the future, where cars and other vehicles dominate the streets. What Can We Learn from This? Whether or not Nahum’s prophecy directly refers to modern cars, there are important lessons we can take from this discussion: God’s Word Is Timeless The Bible was written thousands of years ago, yet its words continue to resonate with us today. Whether describing ancient events or hinting at future advancements, Scripture reminds us of God’s sovereignty over all time. Prophecy Points to God’s Plan Prophecies like Nahum’s show us that God is in control of history. He knows the past, present, and future, and His plans will always come to pass. In Isaiah 46:9-10 , God declares: “I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me, declaring the end from the beginning and from ancient times things not yet done.” The Bible Encourages Us to Reflect Passages like Nahum 2:4 invite us to think deeply about the Scriptures and how they apply to our lives. Whether we see this verse as a description of ancient chariots or a vision of modern cars, it reminds us to seek God’s wisdom and guidance in all things. A Fascinating Perspective The idea that Nahum’s prophecy might describe future cars is a fascinating perspective that highlights the richness and depth of the Bible. While the primary purpose of Nahum’s words was to warn Nineveh of its impending judgment, the imagery he used continues to capture the imagination of readers today. Whether or not this passage is truly a prophetic glimpse of modern technology, it serves as a reminder of God’s power, knowledge, and timeless Word. As we reflect on Nahum’s vision, let us also remember the ultimate message of the Bible: God’s love, justice, and plan for humanity through Jesus Christ. In Psalm 119:105 , we are reminded: “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”  Whether describing ancient events or hinting at future advancements, God’s Word continues to illuminate our lives and guide us in truth. • Obadiah: The Shortest Book in the Old Testament with a Powerful Message

The book of Obadiah, though often overlooked due to its brevity, carries a significant and timeless message. As the shortest book in the Old Testament, consisting of only 21 verses, it is easy to miss its depth and relevance. However, this small prophetic book delivers a powerful warning of judgment and a call to reflect on God’s justice, sovereignty, and faithfulness. What Is Obadiah About? Obadiah’s primary focus is on the judgment of Edom, a nation descended from Esau, Jacob’s brother. The conflict between Edom and Israel (descendants of Jacob) had deep historical roots, stemming from the sibling rivalry between Esau and Jacob recorded in Genesis 25:19-34 . This tension continued for centuries, with Edom often acting as an enemy to Israel. Obadiah addresses Edom’s pride, betrayal, and violence against their "brother" nation, Israel, during a time of crisis. In Obadiah 1:10-11 , the prophet declares: "Because of the violence against your brother Jacob, you will be covered with shame; you will be destroyed forever. On the day you stood aloof while strangers carried off his wealth and foreigners entered his gates and cast lots for Jerusalem, you were like one of them." This passage highlights Edom’s sin of standing by and even rejoicing as Israel suffered at the hands of foreign invaders. Instead of helping their brother nation, Edom chose to take advantage of their vulnerability, which provoked God’s anger. The Sins of Edom Obadiah outlines several sins that led to Edom’s downfall: Pride and Arrogance :Edom was a nation that trusted in its fortified cities and mountainous terrain for protection. In Obadiah 1:3-4 , God rebukes their pride: “The pride of your heart has deceived you, you who live in the clefts of the rocks and make your home on the heights, you who say to yourself, ‘Who can bring me down to the ground?’ Though you soar like the eagle and make your nest among the stars, from there I will bring you down,” declares the Lord. Their false sense of security and self-reliance blinded them to their need for God and led to their downfall. Betrayal of Israel :Edom betrayed their familial bond with Israel by aiding their enemies and looting their land during times of distress. In Obadiah 1:12-14 , God condemns their actions: “You should not gloat over your brother in the day of his misfortune, nor rejoice over the people of Judah in the day of their destruction, nor boast so much in the day of their trouble.” Their betrayal was not just a political act but a moral and spiritual failure. Violence and Greed :Edom’s actions were fueled by greed and a desire to profit from Israel’s suffering. Instead of showing compassion, they joined in the destruction, sealing their fate under God’s judgment. God’s Judgment on Edom The book of Obadiah makes it clear that no nation or individual can escape God’s justice. In Obadiah 1:15 , the prophet warns: “The day of the Lord is near for all nations. As you have done, it will be done to you; your deeds will return upon your own head.” This verse introduces a broader theme: God’s judgment is not limited to Edom but extends to all nations that oppose His will and oppress His people. The "Day of the Lord" is a recurring theme in the Bible, signifying a time when God will execute justice and establish His kingdom. For Edom, this judgment meant complete destruction. The nation that once prided itself on its strength and security would be brought low, fulfilling God’s promise in Obadiah 1:18 : “There will be no survivors from Esau’s descendants.” Hope for Israel and God’s Kingdom While much of Obadiah focuses on judgment, the book ends with a message of hope for Israel. In Obadiah 1:17 , the prophet declares: “But on Mount Zion will be deliverance; it will be holy, and Jacob will possess his inheritance.” This promise reassures God’s people that He has not forgotten them. Despite their suffering, God will restore them and establish His kingdom. Obadiah concludes with a vision of God’s ultimate reign in Obadiah 1:21 : “The kingdom will be the Lord’s.” This final verse points to a future where God’s justice prevails, His people are restored, and His sovereignty is acknowledged by all nations. Lessons from Obadiah Though written thousands of years ago, the book of Obadiah contains lessons that are still relevant today: Pride Leads to Destruction :Like Edom, we can fall into the trap of pride and self-reliance. Proverbs 16:18  reminds us, “Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall.”  Obadiah warns us to humble ourselves before God and trust in Him rather than in our own strength. God Sees Injustice :God is a God of justice, and He sees when nations or individuals oppress others. In Romans 12:19 , Paul writes, “Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: ‘It is mine to avenge; I will repay,’ says the Lord.”  Obadiah assures us that God will hold the wicked accountable. God’s Sovereignty and Faithfulness :Despite the chaos and suffering in the world, God is in control. He remains faithful to His promises and will ultimately establish His kingdom. This truth gives us hope and assurance in uncertain times. Why Obadiah Matters Obadiah may be the shortest book in the Old Testament, but its message is profound. It reminds us of the consequences of pride, betrayal, and injustice while pointing us to the hope of God’s ultimate reign. As believers, we are called to live humbly, seek justice, and trust in God’s sovereignty. Though it is easy to overlook this small book, Obadiah’s message is timeless and relevant for every generation. Let us take its lessons to heart, remembering that God’s justice will prevail and His kingdom will endure forever. • The Worship of the Queen of Heaven: A Warning from Jeremiah

The book of Jeremiah contains stern warnings from God about the idolatrous practices of the Israelites, specifically their worship of the "queen of heaven." This false deity became a focal point of rebellion against God, leading to His anger and judgment. Through Jeremiah, God confronts the people about their actions, exposing the consequences of turning away from Him to worship other gods. These passages serve as a cautionary tale about the dangers of idolatry and the importance of remaining faithful to the one true God. Idolatry in the Family: A Collective Rebellion In Jeremiah 7:18 , God highlights how idolatry infiltrated every part of family life: "The children gather wood, the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead their dough, to make cakes to the queen of heaven , and to pour out drink offerings unto other gods, that they may provoke me to anger." This verse paints a vivid picture of how entire families were involved in worshiping the queen of heaven, a pagan goddess. Children, fathers, and mothers all played a role in preparing offerings and sacrifices, showing how deeply entrenched idolatry had become in their daily lives. Rather than teaching their children to honor God, fathers and mothers led them into sin, provoking God’s anger. This collective rebellion illustrates how idolatry can corrupt not just individuals but entire households and communities. The False Promise of Prosperity In Jeremiah 44:17 , the people defend their idolatry, claiming that their worship of the queen of heaven brought them prosperity: "But we will certainly do whatsoever thing goeth forth out of our own mouth, to burn incense unto the queen of heaven , and to pour out drink offerings unto her, as we have done, we, and our fathers, our kings, and our princes, in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem: for then had we plenty of victuals, and were well, and saw no evil." The Israelites believed that their idolatry had brought them abundance and safety. They looked back fondly on the times when they worshiped the queen of heaven , associating those moments with material blessings and security. This false perception blinded them to the truth: their prosperity came from God, not from idols. As it says in Deuteronomy 8:18 , “But remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you the ability to produce wealth.”  Their refusal to acknowledge God as the source of their blessings led them deeper into sin. The Consequences of Abandoning God In Jeremiah 44:18 , the people lament the hardships they faced after ceasing to worship the queen of heaven: "But since we left off to burn incense to the queen of heaven , and to pour out drink offerings unto her, we have wanted all things, and have been consumed by the sword and by the famine." Rather than repenting and turning back to God, the Israelites blamed their suffering on their decision to stop worshiping the queen of heaven. This misguided belief reveals their spiritual blindness and stubbornness. They failed to recognize that their hardships were the result of God’s judgment for their idolatry, as warned in Jeremiah 25:6-7 : “ Do not follow other gods to serve and worship them… But you did not listen to me,” declares the Lord, “and you have brought harm to yourselves.” The Role of Women in Idolatry Jeremiah 44:19  highlights the participation of women in idol worship: "And when we burned incense to the queen of heaven , and poured out drink offerings unto her, did we make her cakes to worship her, and pour out drink offerings unto her, without our men?" This verse shows that women played a significant role in the worship of the queen of heaven, though they were not acting alone. Their husbands supported and participated in these practices, making idolatry a shared sin. The passage underscores how idolatry had permeated every level of society, involving men, women, and children alike. This collective rebellion against God demonstrates the destructive power of sin when it is allowed to flourish unchecked. God’s Judgment on Idolatry In Jeremiah 44:25 , God responds to the people’s stubbornness: "Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, saying; Ye and your wives have both spoken with your mouths, and fulfilled with your hand, saying, We will surely perform our vows that we have vowed, to burn incense to the queen of heaven , and to pour out drink offerings unto her: ye will surely accomplish your vows, and surely perform your vows." Here, God acknowledges the people’s determination to continue their idolatrous practices despite His warnings. Their vows to worship the queen of heaven reveal their hardened hearts and rejection of God’s authority. This defiance leads to judgment, as God holds them accountable for their actions. In Jeremiah 44:27 , He declares, “I am watching over them for harm, not for good.”  Their idolatry would ultimately bring destruction upon them. Lessons for Today The worship of the queen of heaven in Jeremiah’s time serves as a warning for us today. Idolatry may not always involve bowing to statues or false gods, but it can take many forms, such as placing material possessions, relationships, or personal ambitions above God. As Jesus said in Matthew 6:24 , “No one can serve two masters.”  We must remain vigilant, ensuring that our worship and devotion are directed solely to God. These passages also remind us of the consequences of turning away from God. When we reject Him and follow our own desires, we invite hardship and judgment into our lives. However, God’s mercy is always available to those who repent and return to Him. In 2 Chronicles 7:14 , He promises, “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” Let us learn from the mistakes of the Israelites and strive to remain faithful to God, trusting Him as the source of our blessings and the foundation of our lives. May we worship Him alone, rejecting all forms of idolatry and seeking His guidance in all that we do. • Planting Churches: Jehovah Saints Ministry in Kenya's Call for Prayer

Church planting has always been an essential part of spreading the Gospel and advancing God’s kingdom. It is a labor of love, faith, and dedication, often requiring perseverance and prayer to overcome challenges. Archbishop and President Victor Odhiambo of Jehovah Saints Ministry in Kenya is currently engaged in this important mission, planting a new church in Sondu-Nyabondo. His request for prayer highlights the spiritual significance of this endeavor and the need for collective support from believers. The Mission of Church Planting Church planting is more than establishing a physical building; it is about creating a spiritual community where believers can gather to worship, learn God’s Word, and grow in their faith. In Matthew 28:19-20 , Jesus commands His followers, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.”  This Great Commission serves as the foundation for church planting, reminding us that spreading the Gospel is central to our calling as Christians. Archbishop Odhiambo’s work in Sondu-Nyabondo reflects this mission, as he seeks to bring the hope and love of Christ to a new community. His leadership and dedication are an inspiration, showing how one person’s obedience to God can impact countless lives. Challenges of Church Planting Planting a church is not without its difficulties. It often involves logistical challenges, financial needs, and spiritual warfare. In Ephesians 6:12 , Paul reminds us, “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.”  Church planters must rely on God’s strength and guidance to overcome these obstacles and remain steadfast in their mission. Archbishop Odhiambo’s request for prayer underscores the importance of spiritual support. Prayer is a powerful tool that connects believers to God and invites His intervention in their efforts. In Philippians 4:6 , we are encouraged, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.”  By praying for the success of the new church in Sondu-Nyabondo, believers can play a vital role in supporting this ministry. The Impact of a New Church A new church has the potential to transform lives and communities. It provides a place where people can encounter God, experience His love, and find fellowship with other believers. In Acts 2:42 , the early church is described as a community devoted to teaching, fellowship, breaking bread, and prayer. This model serves as an example for modern churches, showing how they can foster spiritual growth and unity. The church in Sondu-Nyabondo has the opportunity to bring hope to those who are lost or hurting, to disciple new believers, and to be a light in the community. As Jesus said in Matthew 5:14 , “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.”  By supporting Archbishop Odhiambo’s efforts, believers can help shine the light of Christ in this new area. How We Can Help While Archbishop Odhiambo has asked for prayer, there are other ways to support church planting efforts. Financial contributions, volunteering, and sharing resources can all make a significant impact. In 2 Corinthians 9:7 , Paul writes, “Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”  Whether through prayer or practical help, every believer has a role to play in advancing God’s kingdom. A Call to Pray for Sondu-Nyabondo As Archbishop and President Victor Odhiambo plants a new church in Sondu-Nyabondo, let us join together in prayer for its success. Pray for wisdom and strength for the leadership, for open hearts in the community, and for God’s provision in every aspect of the ministry. In Matthew 18:20 , Jesus promises, “For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.”  Let us gather in prayer, trusting that God will bless this new church and use it for His glory. Church planting is a vital part of spreading the Gospel and building God’s kingdom. Archbishop Odhiambo’s work in Sondu-Nyabondo reminds us of the importance of obedience to God’s calling and the power of prayer in supporting His mission. May we continue to pray and support this effort, knowing that God is faithful to accomplish His purposes. As it says in 1 Corinthians 15:58 , “Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.” Conclusion: Join Us in Bringing Hope to the Homeless At Jehovah Saints, we are committed to being the hands and feet of Christ by providing safe shelters, warm meals, and hope to those in need. • A Gift of Faith: Pastor Josphat Isoe and the Children of Jehovah Saints Kenya Celebrate Their New Bibles

A moment of joy and gratitude filled the hearts of Pastor Josphat Isoe and the children of Jehovah Saints Kenya as they received a precious gift—32 Bibles generously donated by Brother Michael Hopkins. This act of kindness has brought hope, inspiration, and the Word of God into the hands of those eager to grow in their faith and share the love of Christ with others. Pastor Josphat shared a heartfelt message of thanks, saying: *"Dear Brother Michael Hopkins, On behalf of all of us, especially the children, we want to extend our deepest gratitude for your generous donation of 32 Bibles. Your kindness has planted seeds of faith that will grow and bear fruit for generations to come. Thank you for being a vessel of God’s love and provision. May the Lord richly bless you for your compassion and obedience to His call. With heartfelt thanks, Pastor Josphat Isoe together with Fellowship Team."* This donation is more than just a gift of books; it is the gift of spiritual nourishment and guidance. For many of the children and members of the fellowship, these Bibles are their first opportunity to personally read and engage with God’s Word. As it says in Psalm 119:105 , “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”  These Bibles will serve as a guiding light for those who are learning to walk in faith and follow Christ. The impact of this gift is immeasurable. It will empower the children to grow in their knowledge of God’s promises and equip them to face the challenges of life with faith and confidence. In 2 Timothy 3:16-17 , we are reminded that “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”  These Bibles will be a source of wisdom, strength, and encouragement for the entire community. Pastor Josphat also emphasized the lasting impact of this act of generosity. The seeds of faith that have been planted through this gift will grow and bear fruit for generations. As Jesus taught in Matthew 13:23 , “But the seed falling on good soil refers to someone who hears the word and understands it. This is the one who produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty, or thirty times what was sown.”  The children and fellowship members who receive and cherish these Bibles will share the love of Christ with others, creating a ripple effect of faith and hope. This moment is a beautiful example of God’s provision and the power of generosity. Brother Michael Hopkins’ obedience to God’s call has made a tangible difference in the lives of many. As it says in Proverbs 11:25 , “A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.”  His gift is a reminder that when we give in love, we reflect the heart of God and become His hands and feet in the world. The fellowship in Kenya is now better equipped to grow in their relationship with God, study His Word, and share His message of salvation with others. The children, in particular, are filled with excitement and gratitude as they begin their journey of faith with their very own Bibles. This gift will not only transform their lives but also strengthen the entire community in their walk with Christ. As we celebrate this act of love and provision, let us be reminded of the importance of sharing God’s Word with those in need. In Romans 10:17 , we are told, “Faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.”  May this story inspire us all to be vessels of God’s love, spreading His Word and making a difference in the lives of others. Amen. Conclusion: Join Us in Bringing Hope to the Homeless At Jehovah Saints, we are committed to being the hands and feet of Christ by providing safe shelters, warm meals, and hope to those in need. • A Message of Faith and Hope from Archbishop Amin Gill of Jehovah Saints Pakistan

Archbishop Amin Gill of Jehovah Saints Pakistan has a heartfelt message to share with the world, one that highlights the miraculous power of Jesus Christ and the hope found in His Word. Recently, Archbishop Gill led a Sunday service in the village of Chak No. 198 JB Gojra, where he shared an inspiring message from the Gospel of Luke. He read and reflected on Luke 8:40-49 , a passage that reveals one of the incredible miracles of Jesus—raising a young girl from the dead. During the service, Archbishop Gill recited this moving story, which begins with a man named Jairus, a synagogue leader, who comes to Jesus with a desperate request. Jairus’ only daughter, just twelve years old, is gravely ill and on the brink of death. With a heart full of faith and urgency, Jairus pleads with Jesus to come to his home and heal his daughter. Despite the pressing crowd surrounding Him, Jesus listens to Jairus and begins the journey to his home. However, before they arrive, devastating news comes: the girl has died. Those around Jairus tell him there is no longer any need to trouble Jesus. But Jesus, full of compassion and divine authority, turns to Jairus and says, “Don’t be afraid; just believe, and she will be healed”  ( Luke 8:50 ). When they reach the house, Jesus takes the girl by the hand and speaks life into her, saying, “My child, get up!”  Instantly, her spirit returns, and she rises, leaving everyone in awe of God’s power and mercy. Archbishop Gill explained the deep meaning of this miracle and its relevance to our lives today. This story is a powerful reminder that no matter how hopeless a situation may seem, Jesus is able to bring life, healing, and restoration. His words to Jairus— “Don’t be afraid; just believe” —are words we can hold onto in our own times of fear, doubt, or despair. Jesus calls us to trust Him completely, even when the circumstances seem impossible. This passage also reflects the boundless compassion and love of Jesus. Despite the chaos of the crowd and the interruptions along the way, Jesus stopped to listen to Jairus and acted on his behalf. This reminds us that Jesus is never too busy to hear our prayers or intervene in our lives. As it says in Psalm 145:18 , “The Lord is near to all who call on Him, to all who call on Him in truth.” Archbishop Gill emphasized that this miracle is not just a historical event but a living testimony of the power of faith. Just as Jesus brought hope and life to Jairus’ family, He can bring hope and transformation to our lives today. The Bible assures us in Hebrews 13:8 , “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.”  The same miraculous power that raised Jairus’ daughter is still at work in the lives of those who believe. The Archbishop also encouraged the congregation to trust in God’s plan, even in the face of trials. As it says in Proverbs 3:5-6 , “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.”  When we place our faith in Jesus, we can rest assured that He is in control and working for our good. Archbishop Amin Gill’s message is a call to share the good news of Jesus Christ with the world. It is a reminder that God’s love, power, and grace are available to all who believe. His message from the village of Chak No. 198 JB Gojra serves as a beacon of hope for anyone facing challenges, reminding us that with God, nothing is impossible ( Matthew 19:26 ). Amen. • David’s Journey: From Homelessness to God’s Faithfulness

The story of King David is one of the most remarkable in the Bible, showing how God can lift someone from the lowest points in life to fulfill His divine purpose. What many people may not realize is that David, before becoming king, experienced homelessness, poverty, and immense hardship. His journey reminds us that even in our darkest moments, God is present and faithful. At one point in his life, David was forced to flee for his life because King Saul, driven by jealousy, sought to kill him. During this time, David had no home or place of safety. He lived in caves and wilderness areas, hiding and relying completely on God for protection and provision. Despite these dire circumstances, David’s faith in the Lord never wavered. He turned to God in prayer, pouring out his heart and trusting in His care. In Psalm 86:1, David cries out to God, saying, "Incline Your ear, O LORD, and answer me, for I am poor and needy."  These words reflect David’s vulnerability and his dependence on God during one of the most challenging times in his life. Similarly, in Psalm 40:17, David proclaims, "As for me, I am poor and needy, but the Lord takes thought for me."  Even when he had nothing, David found comfort in the knowledge that God was mindful of him and cared deeply for his needs. David’s story is a powerful reminder that God sees the struggles of the poor, the needy, and the homeless. He is near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18) and promises to be a refuge for those who trust in Him (Psalm 46:1). No matter how difficult life may seem, God is always present, offering His love, guidance, and provision. David’s life also teaches us that no situation is beyond God’s redemption. From a homeless fugitive, David rose to become one of the greatest kings in history, a man after God’s own heart (1 Samuel 13:14). His story encourages us to trust in God’s plan, even when we cannot see the way forward. If you are facing challenges today, remember David’s example. Turn to God in prayer, just as David did, and trust that He is with you. As it says in Philippians 4:19, "And my God will supply every need of yours according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus."  God is faithful, and He will see you through. • "Homeless Like Jesus: A Lesson in Compassion and Understanding"

In Matthew 8:20, Jesus says something profound and humbling: "And Jesus saith unto him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head." This verse reveals a powerful truth: Jesus, the Son of God, experienced homelessness during His time on earth. He lived without the comforts and security of a permanent home, choosing instead to walk among the people, relying on the kindness of others and the provision of God. This reality challenges us to rethink how we view those who are homeless today. It reminds us that Jesus Himself walked in their shoes and that our attitudes toward them should reflect His love and compassion. Let us explore this verse and its implications for how we treat those in need. Jesus’ Earthly Poverty When Jesus spoke these words in Matthew 8:20, He was responding to a scribe who expressed a desire to follow Him. The scribe likely expected a life of comfort or prestige by being associated with Jesus. But Jesus made it clear that following Him meant sacrifice. He didn’t live a life of luxury or even basic stability. Instead, He chose a life of humility and reliance on God. Jesus’ statement, "the Son of man hath not where to lay his head," reveals that He had no permanent home. While animals like foxes and birds have places to rest, Jesus often traveled from town to town, teaching, healing, and spreading the message of God’s kingdom. His mission was not to accumulate earthly possessions but to fulfill God’s purpose for humanity. As 2 Corinthians 8:9 reminds us: "For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich." Jesus willingly embraced poverty so that we might gain the riches of eternal life. When we reflect on Jesus’ experience of homelessness, it should change how we view those who are homeless in our communities. Too often, we judge or dismiss them, assuming they don’t want help or that their situation is entirely their own fault. But what if we paused and remembered that Jesus Himself was homeless? In Matthew 25:40, Jesus says: "Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me." This verse reminds us that when we show kindness and compassion to those in need, we are serving Jesus Himself. The next time we see someone who is homeless, we should think twice before making assumptions. Instead, we should ask ourselves how we can show them the love of Christ. Lessons from Jesus’ Homelessness Humility and Dependence on God Jesus’ life of homelessness teaches us the importance of humility and dependence on God. He trusted His Father to provide for His needs, whether through the generosity of others or divine intervention. As Philippians 4:19 says: “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” We, too, are called to trust God for our daily needs and to have faith that He will provide. Sacrificial Love Jesus’ choice to live without a home was part of His greater mission to serve humanity. He gave up the comforts of heaven to walk among us, ultimately sacrificing His life for our sins. This sacrificial love sets an example for us to follow. As 1 John 3:17-18 says: “But whoso hath this world’s good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.” True love is not just words but actions—helping those in need, just as Jesus did. Seeing Jesus in Others When we encounter someone who is homeless, we should remember that Jesus identified with the poor and marginalized. Hebrews 13:2 reminds us: “Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.” By showing kindness and compassion, we may be serving Jesus Himself or even encountering a divine moment. Changing Our Perspective It’s easy to make snap judgments about people who are homeless. We might think, “They don’t want help,” or “They could change their situation if they really tried.” But Jesus challenges us to think differently. Imagine if someone had dismissed Jesus as “just another homeless man” during His time on earth. They would have missed the opportunity to encounter the Savior of the world. In the same way, when we overlook or judge those who are homeless today, we may miss the chance to show Jesus’ love and make a difference in their lives. James 2:15-16 warns us about ignoring the needs of others: "If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?" True faith is demonstrated by action—by reaching out to those in need and offering help, hope, and love. Practical Ways to Help If we want to follow Jesus’ example, we need to take practical steps to help those who are homeless: Offer Kindness and Respect A smile, a kind word, or simply acknowledging someone’s presence can make a big difference. Provide Practical Help Donate food, clothing, or money to organizations that support the homeless. Volunteer your time at shelters or food banks. Advocate for Change Support initiatives that address the root causes of homelessness, such as affordable housing and mental health services. Pray for Them Pray for those who are homeless, asking God to provide for their needs and lead them to a better future. Matthew 8:20 reminds us that Jesus Himself experienced homelessness, choosing a life of humility and sacrifice to fulfill His mission on earth. This truth challenges us to see the homeless in a new light—not as people to judge or dismiss, but as individuals made in God’s image and loved by Him. The next time you see someone who is homeless, remember that Jesus walked in their shoes. Instead of turning away, ask yourself how you can show them the love and compassion of Christ. By doing so, you honor the One who had no place to lay His head and fulfill His call to serve “the least of these.” As Proverbs 19:17 says: "He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the Lord; and that which he hath given will he pay him again." Let us be the hands and feet of Jesus, reaching out to those in need with love, kindness, and hope. Amen. Conclusion: Join Us in Bringing Hope to the Homeless At Jehovah Saints, we are committed to being the hands and feet of Christ by providing safe shelters, warm meals, and hope to those in need. Our mission to build homeless shelters around the world is inspired by Jesus’ words: “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me”  (Matthew 25:40).
