- A Reflection on Pastor Arfan Bashir’s Sermon
Pastor Arfan Bashir of Jehovah Saints Church in Jaranwala, Pakistan, recently shared some photos of his congregation with me. It was heartwarming to see how engaged and attentive the congregation was as they responded to his sermon. His message was based on Matthew 3:2, which says, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” This verse is a powerful reminder of the call to repentance and the urgency of preparing ourselves for God’s kingdom. Pastor Bashir’s sermon emphasized the importance of turning away from sin and aligning our hearts with God’s will. It is a message of hope and transformation, urging us to live in a way that reflects the nearness of God’s kingdom. The photos he shared captured the congregation’s heartfelt response to this message. It was clear that the words spoken resonated deeply, inspiring reflection and a renewed commitment to faith. Seeing these images reminded me of the global nature of God’s church and how believers everywhere are united by the same gospel message. Matthew 3:2 challenges us to examine our lives and make changes where needed. As the Apostle Peter writes in 2 Peter 3:9, “The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.” This shows God’s immense love and patience, giving us the opportunity to turn back to Him. I am grateful for Pastor Bashir’s dedication to spreading the gospel and for the faithfulness of his congregation. Their example reminds us of the importance of coming together as a community to worship, learn, and grow in our walk with Christ. Let us continue to pray for Pastor Bashir, his congregation, and all those who are working to share the message of repentance and hope in Christ. May their efforts bear much fruit, and may we all be encouraged to live lives that reflect the nearness of God’s kingdom. Conclusion: Join Us in Bringing Hope to the Homeless At Jehovah Saints, we are committed to being the hands and feet of Christ by providing safe shelters, warm meals, and hope to those in need. Our mission to build homeless shelters around the world is inspired by Jesus’ words: “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me” (Matthew 25:40). With your support, we can expand this mission and provide a place of refuge for countless individuals and families who are struggling. - Sunday Service Report by Archbishop Amin Gill of Jehovah Saints Church
On this holy day, Archbishop Amin Gill of the Jehovah Saints Church , Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan, led a spiritually uplifting Sunday service at Chak No. 297 JB . The focus of the sermon was on the Gospel of Matthew, Chapter 19, Verses 16 to 22 , a passage that challenges us to reflect on our priorities and commitment to God. Key Scripture: Matthew 19:16-22 The Archbishop expounded on the following passage: "And behold, a man came up to him, saying, ‘Teacher, what good deed must I do to have eternal life?’ And he said to him, ‘Why do you ask me about what is good? There is only one who is good. If you would enter life, keep the commandments.’ He said to him, ‘Which ones?’ And Jesus said, ‘You shall not murder, You shall not commit adultery, You shall not steal, You shall not bear false witness, Honor your father and mother, and, You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ The young man said to him, ‘All these I have kept. What do I still lack?’ Jesus said to him, ‘If you would be perfect, go, sell what you possess and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.’ When the young man heard this, he went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions.” (Matthew 19:16-22, ESV) Key Points from the Sermon The Quest for Eternal Life Archbishop Amin Gill emphasized that eternal life is not earned through mere deeds but through a heart fully surrendered to God. Jesus calls us to go beyond external obedience and embrace a life of sacrifice and faith. John 14:6 : "Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’" The Challenge of Wealth The Archbishop reflected on the rich young man’s sorrow, highlighting how material possessions can become a hindrance to spiritual growth. True discipleship demands prioritizing God above all else. 1 Timothy 6:10 : "For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs." A Call to Generosity The congregation was encouraged to adopt a lifestyle of generosity, helping the poor and needy as a testimony of their faith and obedience to Christ. Proverbs 11:25 : "Whoever brings blessing will be enriched, and one who waters will himself be watered." Following Christ Wholeheartedly The Archbishop reminded the congregation that following Jesus requires leaving behind anything that competes with our devotion to Him. Luke 9:23 : "And he said to all, ‘If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.’" Impact on the Congregation The sermon deeply resonated with the congregation, inspiring many to reflect on their spiritual journey and the areas of their lives that need realignment with God’s will. The Archbishop’s message brought encouragement and conviction, reminding everyone of the eternal treasures awaiting those who fully commit to Christ. Closing Prayer Archbishop Amin Gill concluded the service with a heartfelt prayer, asking Jehovah to strengthen the congregation in their walk of faith and to help them overcome any obstacles that hinder their relationship with Him. Psalm 119:105 : "Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path." - Prayer and Fasting at Jehovah Saints Church in Faisalabad, Pakistan
Evangelist Filpus of the Jehovah Saints Church in Faisalabad, Pakistan, recently held a powerful service centered on the themes of prayer and fasting. This service served as a spiritual gathering where believers were encouraged to deepen their connection with God through these essential practices of faith. Prayer and fasting are vital components of the Christian life, as they allow us to seek God's guidance, strength, and intervention in our lives. As it is written: Matthew 6:16-18 : "When you fast, do not look somber as the hypocrites do, for they disfigure their faces to show others they are fasting. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. But when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face, so that it will not be obvious to others that you are fasting, but only to your Father, who is unseen; and your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you." Philippians 4:6-7 : "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Isaiah 58:6 : "Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke?" During the service, Evangelist Filpus emphasized the importance of dedicating time to prayer and fasting as a means of drawing closer to God and interceding for the needs of the community and the nation. He encouraged the congregation to approach prayer and fasting with a humble heart, trusting in God's promises and divine timing. This gathering was a testament to the power of unity in faith and the transformative impact of seeking God earnestly. Sharing the Word of God with Asia Pastor Arham Shahzad of Jehovah Saints Church in Pakistan recently sent me, Michael Hopkins, a photo. Pastor Shahzad shared the following message: "Brother, we had printed his picture the day before yesterday. Now, we want you to share the Word of God with Asia through an online video." This is a wonderful opportunity to spread the gospel and inspire faith across nations. As it is written: Mark 16:15 : "And He said to them, ‘Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.’" Matthew 28:19-20 : "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age." Let us take this step together to bring the light of God’s Word to Asia, fulfilling the Great Commission and strengthening our brothers and sisters in faith. - Message from Pastor Munir Mashi of Jehovah Saints Pakistan
Shared by Minister Michael Hopkins Introduction Pastor Munir Mashi has shared photos reflecting the reality of the children in their community who are unable to attend school due to their circumstances. He calls for support and reminds us of God’s promise to be with those who help others in need. Pastor Masih ’s Statement "These pictures show that our children also work with us because they cannot go to school. May God be with you. Will you help us, and we will help the people. This is a promise from God." Reflection on the Situation The Challenge: These children are unable to access education and are instead contributing to daily work for survival. It is a reminder of the responsibility we have as believers to care for the vulnerable and ensure their future. The Call to Action: Pastor Munir ’s words resonate with the biblical call to help those in need. As followers of Christ, we are called to extend our hands and hearts to those facing hardship. Scriptural Encouragement Helping the Vulnerable: Proverbs 19:17 (ESV): "Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and He will repay him for his deed." God’s Promise to Be With Us: Isaiah 41:10 (ESV): "Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." Caring for Children: Matthew 19:14 (ESV): "But Jesus said, ‘Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.’" Encouragement to Act Faith in Action: James 2:16 reminds us that faith without works is dead. Let us not merely wish well but act to make a difference in the lives of these children. A Shared Mission: Pastor Munir emphasizes that by helping one another, we fulfill God’s promise. Together, we can bring hope and transformation to those in need. Closing Prayer May God bless Pastor Munir , the children, and all who are working tirelessly to bring change. Let us pray for wisdom, provision, and strength to support this mission. - Sermon: Chosen to Be Sent Out
By Archbishop Victor K. Phiri of Jehovah Saints Church Malawi Shared by Minister Michael Hopkins Scripture Reference Matthew 10:2-4 (ESV): "These are the names of the twelve apostles: first, Simon (who is called Peter) and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother; Philip and Bartholomew; Thomas and Matthew the tax collector; James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus; Simon the Zealot, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him." Introduction In this passage, we see Jesus selecting twelve ordinary men to be His apostles. These individuals were not chosen for their qualifications, wealth, or social standing. Instead, they were chosen because Jesus saw their potential for transformation and their willingness to serve Him. Reflection: Would You Have Chosen Them? Reviewing the list of the twelve disciples, one might question their suitability for the monumental task of announcing salvation to the world. They were fishermen, a tax collector, and even a zealot—a diverse group with no apparent qualifications for spiritual leadership. Key Question: Would we, in our human judgment, have chosen any of them for such a task? Why Did Jesus Choose Them? Not for Their Qualifications: Jesus did not appoint them based on their skills or track record. Instead, He chose them to transform them into something new. To Equip Them: Jesus called them to change their hearts and minds, equipping them to minister in His Name. Their pasts did not matter. What mattered was their willingness to let Jesus shape them. Judas’s Failure: Judas Iscariot, though chosen, failed because he did not allow Jesus to change him. This reminds us that being called is not enough; transformation and obedience are essential. The Privilege of Serving God The disciples had the privilege of becoming the leaders of the early church. Despite facing persecution and violent deaths, they remained faithful and now share in Christ's eternal glory. Application: What About Us? Key Message: No matter how unqualified or unlikely you think you are to serve God, He can use you if you let Him. Let God Call You: Be open to His call, even if it seems beyond your abilities. Allow God to Change You: Transformation is key. Your identity is shaped by the spiritual master you serve. Be Willing to Be Used: God equips those He calls. Trust Him to prepare you for the task. Endure for His Glory: Serving God may come with challenges, but the reward is eternal glory with Him. Closing Scripture Romans 8:30 (ESV): "And those whom He predestined He also called, and those whom He called He also justified, and those whom He justified He also glorified." Final Encouragement Let the Lord call you, change you, and equip you for His glory. Whatever the cost, remember that serving Him leads to sharing in His eternal glory. - Worship in Gujra: Archbishop Amin Gill’s Message of Faith
Archbishop Amin Gill of the Jehovah Saints Church in Pakistan shared a heartfelt message and photo with Brother Michael Hopkins. He wanted to highlight the spiritual significance of the worship conducted on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 , in a colony in Gujra. "I conducted worship in a colony in Gujra, in which I recited the Holy Word from the Book of Exodus, Chapter 13:1-10. Amen." 1. The Message from Exodus 13:1-10 This passage focuses on the Lord’s command to consecrate the firstborn of Israel, a reminder of His mighty deliverance from Egypt. It emphasizes the importance of remembering God's powerful hand in rescuing His people and dedicating the first and best to Him. Exodus 13:2 : "Consecrate to me all the firstborn. Whatever is the first to open the womb among the people of Israel, both of man and of beast, is mine." Exodus 13:9 : "And it shall be to you as a sign on your hand and as a memorial between your eyes, that the law of the Lord may be in your mouth. For with a strong hand the Lord has brought you out of Egypt." Archbishop Gill's choice of scripture reminds us to honor God with our lives and remember His faithfulness in delivering us from bondage. 2. The Significance of Worship in the Colony The worship conducted in Gujra highlights the commitment of Jehovah Saints Church to spreading God’s Word in all places, including underserved communities. This act of ministry reflects the heart of the Gospel: reaching out to all people with the love and truth of Christ. Matthew 28:19-20 : "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age." Isaiah 61:1 : "The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound." Through this worship, Archbishop Gill brought the light of God’s Word to the people in Gujra, reminding them of His deliverance and love. 3. A Call to Dedication and Remembrance The theme of dedication in Exodus 13 resonates deeply with believers today. Just as the Israelites were called to consecrate their firstborn to the Lord, we are called to dedicate our lives fully to Him, remembering His great works in our lives. Romans 12:1 : "I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship." Psalm 77:11-12 : "I will remember the deeds of the Lord; yes, I will remember your wonders of old. I will ponder all your work, and meditate on your mighty deeds." This worship gathering serves as a powerful reminder to keep God’s Word at the center of our lives and to share His truth with others. Final Reflection Archbishop Gill’s dedication to spreading the Gospel and leading worship in Gujra is an inspiring example of faith in action. The message from Exodus 13:1-10 calls us to remember God’s faithfulness, dedicate ourselves to Him, and proclaim His mighty works to the world. "Declare His glory among the nations, His marvelous works among all the peoples!" (Psalm 96:3) May this testimony encourage us to honor God in all we do and share His love with those around us.
