- Report from Archbishop and Pastor Amin Gill of Jehovah Saints Church, Pakistan
Report from Archbishop and Pastor Amin Gill of Jehovah Saints Church, Punjab, Pakistan On the evening of Friday, March 7th , I had the privilege of leading a worship service at Village 297 JB , within my pastoral area. During this gathering, I shared a message on the profound teachings of Jesus Christ regarding forgiveness , as recorded in the Gospel of Matthew, chapter 18, verses 15 to 22. Key Teachings from Matthew 18:15-22 Reconciliation with a Brother or Sister : Jesus emphasizes the importance of addressing conflicts directly and privately: “If your brother or sister sins, go and point out their fault, just between the two of you. If they listen to you, you have won them over.” (Matthew 18:15) The Process of Resolution : If reconciliation fails, Jesus outlines a process involving witnesses and, if necessary, the broader community of believers. “But if they will not listen, take one or two others along, so that ‘every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.’” (Matthew 18:16) The Call to Forgiveness : Peter asked Jesus how many times we should forgive someone who sins against us. Jesus replied, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.” (Matthew 18:22) This teaching underscores the boundless nature of forgiveness expected of Christ’s followers. Reflection During the worship service, I encouraged the congregation to embrace Jesus' call to forgiveness, which fosters healing and unity within the body of Christ. Forgiveness is not only a command but also a reflection of God’s grace toward us. Amen. Conclusion: Join Us in Bringing Hope to the Homeless At Jehovah Saints, we are committed to being the hands and feet of Christ by providing safe shelters, warm meals, and hope to those in need. - "Jehovah Saints Church in Jaranwala, Pakistan: Fasting and Fellowship"
"Jehovah Saints Church in Jaranwala, Pakistan: Fasting and Fellowship" Pastor Arfan Bashir of Jehovah Saints Church in Jaranwala, Pakistan, shares an inspiring update from their community. On the first day of fasting, his wife led the congregation in breaking their fast by providing food. This act of service and fellowship underscores the importance of unity and compassion within the body of Christ. Scripture Focus Matthew 6:16-18: "When you fast, do not look somber as the hypocrites do, for they disfigure their faces to show others they are fasting. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. But when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face, so that it will not be obvious to others that you are fasting, but only to your Father, who is unseen; and your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you." Fasting should be a humble act of devotion to God, accompanied by acts of kindness and generosity. Isaiah 58:6-7: "Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke? Is it not to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter—when you see the naked, to clothe them, and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?" True fasting involves acts of love, justice, and care for others. Hebrews 13:16: "And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased." Sharing what we have with others is a pleasing sacrifice to God. Key Points from the Report The First Day of Fasting The congregation at Jehovah Saints Church in Jaranwala observed the first day of fasting with prayer and devotion. Pastor Arfan Bashir’s wife played a key role in leading the community by breaking the fast and providing food. Reflection: How can we use our resources to bless others, especially during times of spiritual devotion like fasting? Unity in the Church The event highlights the unity and love within the church community. Such acts strengthen the bonds of fellowship and encourage others to participate in acts of kindness. Reflection: How can we foster a spirit of unity and love within our own communities? Application for Today Fasting with Purpose: Approach fasting as an opportunity to grow closer to God while also serving others. Reflect on Isaiah 58 and consider how your fasting can include acts of justice and compassion. Sharing and Fellowship: Use moments of fellowship, like breaking a fast, to build relationships and encourage one another in faith. Organize community meals or gatherings to strengthen bonds within your church or neighborhood. Living Out Faith: Let your faith be evident through acts of love and service, as demonstrated by Pastor Arfan Bashir’s congregation. Encouraging Testimony The example set by Jehovah Saints Church in Jaranwala reminds us of the power of fasting and fellowship. By breaking the fast together and sharing food, they demonstrate the love of Christ in action. Supporting Scriptures for Further Reflection Acts 2:46-47: "Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved." Proverbs 11:25: "A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed." John 13:34-35: "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another." Pastor Arfan Bashir’s report from Jaranwala, Pakistan, is a beautiful example of how fasting can bring a community together in love and service. Pastor Nadeem's Report on Service Jehovah Saints Church, Gojra City, District Toba Tek Singh, Pakistan Pastor Nadeem shares a heartfelt testimony of his service to the community: "I was hungry in your house, and you fed me bread." This simple yet profound statement reflects the spirit of Christ's teaching and the mission of the church to serve those in need. Scriptural Reflection The words of Pastor Nadeem resonate deeply with the message in Isaiah 58:1-8 , where the Lord calls His people to true fasting—fasting that is not just about rituals but about acts of justice, mercy, and compassion. Isaiah 58:6-7 reminds us: "Is not this the fast that I have chosen? To loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke? Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? When thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh?" This passage calls us to action, emphasizing that true worship is seen in how we treat others, especially the vulnerable and marginalized. Encouragement for the Church As Pastor Nadeem's testimony illustrates, the work of the church is not just about preaching but also about living out the Gospel through acts of love and service. Feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, and caring for the oppressed are central to our calling as followers of Christ. Let us be reminded of Jesus' words in Matthew 25:35-36 : "For I was hungry, and you gave me food; I was thirsty, and you gave me drink; I was a stranger, and you took me in; I was naked, and you clothed me; I was sick, and you visited me; I was in prison, and you came to me." As a church, let us continue to: Feed the Hungry : Extend hospitality and care to those in need. Clothe the Naked : Provide for those who lack basic necessities. Pastor Martin Lulonde's Sermon Report Jehovah Saints Church, Tororo, Uganda " Waiting Upon the Lord and Blessings" Pastor Martin Lulonde delivered a powerful sermon on the importance of waiting upon the Lord and the blessings that follow when we trust in Him wholeheartedly. Key Scriptures Isaiah 40:31 "But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint." This verse reminds us of the spiritual strength and endurance that comes from waiting on God. Just as eagles soar high above the storms, those who put their trust in the Lord will rise above life's challenges with renewed energy and purpose. Psalm 1:1-6 "Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night." "And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper." This psalm beautifully illustrates the blessings that come from living a righteous life, meditating on God's Word, and avoiding ungodly influences. It likens the faithful to a tree planted by streams of water, always flourishing and bearing fruit. Sermon Highlights Waiting on the Lord : Pastor Martin emphasized that waiting on God is not passive but an active, faith-filled process of trusting in His timing and promises. Renewed Strength : Just as Isaiah 40:31 promises, those who wait on the Lord will find their strength renewed, enabling them to overcome challenges and persevere. Delighting in God's Word : Drawing from Psalm 1, Pastor Martin encouraged the congregation to meditate on God's Word daily, ensuring that their lives are deeply rooted in His truth. Blessings of Righteousness : The sermon underscored the blessings of living a righteous life, including spiritual prosperity and fruitfulness. Encouragement for the Congregation Pastor Martin urged the church to remain steadfast in their faith, even during times of waiting. He reminded them that God's timing is perfect and that His blessings are abundant for those who trust Him. As the Apostle Paul writes in Galatians 6:9 : "And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not." Trust in God's Timing : Be patient and wait upon the Lord, knowing that He will renew your strength. Meditate on His Word : Spend time daily in the Scriptures, delighting in His law and seeking His guidance. Live Righteously : Avoid ungodly influences and walk in the path of righteousness to experience God's blessings. May we all be like the tree planted by streams of water, flourishing in every season of life. God bless you as you wait upon Him and walk in His ways. - Pastor Rizwan, Jehovah Saints Church, Phool Nagar, Punjab, Pakistan
Hope in God, and You Will Not Be Shaken Pastor Rizwan, Jehovah Saints Church, Phool Nagar, Punjab, Pakistan Key Scripture: "I have set the Lord always before me; because He is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken." — Psalm 16:8 Message of Hope When we place our hope in God, we anchor our lives to an unshakeable foundation. This hope is not just wishful thinking; it is a confident expectation rooted in God's promises. Let us reflect on the profound truths shared in God’s Word about hope: God is Our Rock and Refuge : "The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold." — Psalm 18:2 Peace Beyond Understanding : "And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." — Philippians 4:7 Hope That Anchors the Soul : "We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure." — Hebrews 6:19 Why Hope in God? He is Our Confidence and Trust : "For You have been my hope, Sovereign Lord, my confidence since my youth." — Psalm 71:5 He Will Not Disappoint : "Those who hope in Me will not be disappointed." — Isaiah 49:23 His Promises Are Secure : "For no matter how many promises God has made, they are 'Yes' in Christ. And so through Him, the 'Amen' is spoken by us to the glory of God." — 2 Corinthians 1:20 He Gives Strength for the Journey : "You are my refuge and my shield; I have put my hope in Your Word." — Psalm 119:114 He Has a Future Planned for Us : "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." — Jeremiah 29:11 What It Means to Hope in God To hope in God means to trust in His goodness, love, and sovereignty. It means saying: I trust in Your goodness and love. I believe in Your power and sovereignty. I rely on Your presence and guidance. I am secure in Your promise to always be with me. When we hope in God, we are choosing stability over fear, confidence over doubt, and peace over anxiety. This hope does not exempt us from challenges, but it equips us to face them with strength and courage. The Promise: You Will Not Be Shaken The phrase "you will not be shaken" signifies that no matter the storms of life, we will remain steadfast. This is because God is our rock and refuge. He is unchanging, faithful, and always present. Psalm 62:6 : "Truly He is my rock and my salvation; He is my fortress, I will not be shaken." Even in times of uncertainty, this hope gives us a firm foundation. It reminds us that: God is in control. His love never fails. His promises are eternal. Let us choose to hope in God today and every day. Let us anchor our lives to His unshakeable foundation and experience the peace and stability that only He can provide. Hebrews 10:23 : "Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for He who promised is faithful." Closing Prayer "Heavenly Father, we thank You for being our rock, our refuge, and our salvation. Help us to place our hope in You, trusting in Your promises and Your unfailing love. May we remain unshaken in the face of life’s challenges, anchored in the peace and strength that only You can provide. In Jesus’ name, Amen." This sermon encourages believers to hold on to hope and trust in God’s promises, no matter the circumstances. May this message inspire and strengthen your faith!
