  • Report: Sunday Service by Pastor Nadeem of Jehovah Saints Pakistan

Sunday Service by Pastor Nadeem of Jehovah Saints Pakistan Subject: Reflection on Mark 2:23-28 Date: February 16, 2025 Pastor Nadeem of Jehovah Saints Pakistan shared his Sunday service message based on Mark 2:23-28, a passage that highlights Jesus’ teaching on the true purpose of the Sabbath. In this account, Jesus responds to the Pharisees’ criticism of His disciples for picking grain on the Sabbath, emphasizing the importance of compassion over legalism and His authority as the Lord of the Sabbath. This lesson serves as a reminder for believers to focus on the spirit of God’s law rather than its rigid interpretation and to embrace the Sabbath as a gift for rest and renewal. Key Scripture: Mark 2:23-28 1. The Pharisees’ Legalism "Look, why are they doing what is unlawful on the Sabbath?" (Mark 2:24) The Pharisees accused Jesus’ disciples of breaking Sabbath laws by picking grain. Their focus on strict rule-keeping blinded them to the greater purpose of God’s commands. 2. Jesus’ Response "The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. So the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath." (Mark 2:27-28) Jesus reminds the Pharisees that the Sabbath was created for humanity’s benefit, not as a burden. He also asserts His divine authority as the Lord of the Sabbath, pointing to His role as the ultimate interpreter of God’s law. Themes and Lessons from the Passage 1. Compassion Over Legalism Jesus uses the example of David eating the consecrated bread (1 Samuel 21:1-6) to illustrate that human need and compassion take precedence over rigid legalism. Supporting Scripture: Micah 6:8 "He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God." God desires mercy and justice over strict adherence to ritual. Supporting Scripture: Matthew 12:7 "If you had known what these words mean, ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice,’ you would not have condemned the innocent." Jesus reiterates the importance of mercy in understanding God’s commands. 2. The Purpose of the Sabbath The Sabbath was instituted as a day of rest, worship, and renewal. Jesus emphasizes that it was designed for humanity’s well-being, not as a burden. Supporting Scripture: Exodus 20:8-10 "Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a sabbath to the Lord your God." The Sabbath is a day set apart for rest and spiritual focus. Supporting Scripture: Isaiah 58:13-14 "If you call the Sabbath a delight and the Lord’s holy day honorable, and if you honor it by not going your own way, then you will find your joy in the Lord." This verse highlights the Sabbath as a blessing and a source of joy. 3. Jesus’ Authority as Lord of the Sabbath By declaring Himself the "Lord of the Sabbath," Jesus asserts His divine authority over the law and reveals His identity as the Son of God. Supporting Scripture: John 1:1-3 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. Through Him all things were made." As the Creator, Jesus has authority over all things, including the Sabbath. Supporting Scripture: Colossians 1:16-17 "For in Him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through Him and for Him." This verse underscores Jesus’ sovereignty over all creation. Reflection on Pastor Nadeem’s Message Pastor Nadeem’s teaching on Mark 2:23-28 challenges believers to: Embrace God’s Compassion: Understand that God values mercy and human need above rigid rule-following. Honor the Sabbath: Recognize the Sabbath as a gift from God for rest, renewal, and worship, not as a burden. Submit to Jesus’ Authority: Trust in Jesus as the Lord of all, including the Sabbath, and follow His teachings with humility and faith. Encouragement for the Church in Pakistan Pastor Nadeem’s message is especially relevant for the church in Pakistan, where believers face many challenges. The reminder to focus on God’s compassion and rest in His authority is a source of encouragement and strength in difficult times. Additional Scripture for Encouragement Psalm 46:10 "Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth." This verse encourages believers to find peace in God’s presence, especially on the Sabbath. Matthew 11:28-30 "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls." Jesus invites all to rest in Him, reflecting the true purpose of the Sabbath. Pastor Nadeem’s Sunday service on Mark 2:23-28 reminds believers of the heart of God’s law: compassion, mercy, and rest. The Sabbath is a gift meant to bless and restore, not to burden. Jesus, as the Lord of the Sabbath, calls us to trust in His authority and embrace His teachings with faith and humility. • Report: Pastor Amin Gill of Jehovah Saints Church in Pakistan

Report: Pastor Amin Gill of Jehovah Saints Church in Pakistan Subject: Sunday Lesson on Acts Chapter 3 Pastor Amin Gill of the Jehovah Saints Church in Pakistan recently shared details about a Sunday lesson focused on the Acts of the Apostles, Chapter 3 . The lesson highlighted the powerful story of Saint Peter and Saint John healing a paralytic at the Beautiful Gate of the temple in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. This account serves as a profound reminder of the authority and power believers have through the name of Jesus and the importance of faith in God’s miraculous works. Key Scriptures from Acts Chapter 3 1. Acts 3:6 "Then Peter said, 'Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.'" This verse captures the essence of the Sunday lesson. Peter and John did not rely on material wealth but on the power of Jesus’ name to perform a miraculous healing. 2. Acts 3:7-8 "Taking him by the right hand, he helped him up, and instantly the man’s feet and ankles became strong. He jumped to his feet and began to walk. Then he went with them into the temple courts, walking and jumping, and praising God." The healing of the paralytic not only restored his physical health but also led him to worship and praise God, demonstrating the transformative power of faith and God’s miraculous intervention. Scriptures Supporting the Lesson’s Themes 1. John 14:13-14 "And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it." This verse reinforces the authority believers have in the name of Jesus, as demonstrated by Peter and John when they healed the paralytic. 2. Mark 16:17-18 "And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well." The healing at the Beautiful Gate is an example of the signs and wonders that follow those who believe in Jesus and act in His name. 3. James 5:14-15 "Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up." This passage highlights the role of faith and prayer in healing, as seen in the actions of Peter and John. Reflection on the Sunday Lesson Pastor Amin Gill’s focus on Acts Chapter 3 is a powerful reminder of the early church’s reliance on the name of Jesus for miracles and ministry. The story of the paralytic at the Beautiful Gate encourages believers to: Exercise Faith: Trust in the power of Jesus’ name to bring healing and transformation. Share God’s Power: Like Peter and John, believers are called to share the hope and power of Christ with those in need. Glorify God: The healed man’s response of walking, leaping, and praising God reminds us to always give glory to the Lord for His works. Encouragement for the Church in Pakistan The story of Acts Chapter 3 is especially relevant for the church in Pakistan, where believers often face challenges but continue to stand firm in faith. The miraculous healing at the Beautiful Gate demonstrates that God’s power is not limited by circumstances or location. Additional Scripture for Encouragement Isaiah 40:31: "But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." This verse encourages the church to remain steadfast and trust in God’s strength. Pastor Amin Gill’s Sunday lesson on Acts Chapter 3 serves as a powerful reminder of the authority believers have in the name of Jesus Christ. The healing of the paralytic at the Beautiful Gate inspires faith, boldness, and a commitment to glorify God in all circumstances. Let us continue to pray for Pastor Amin, the Jehovah Saints Church in Pakistan, and their mission to bring hope and healing to their community through the power of Christ. • Report: Growth of Jehovah Saints in South Sudan

Report: Growth of Jehovah Saints in South Sudan President Daniel Deng Bol Tong's Leadership and Expansion of Jehovah Saints Churches President Daniel Deng Bol Tong of Jehovah Saints in South Sudan recently shared a photo of the headquarters and church building, symbolizing the growing presence of Jehovah Saints in the region. Under his leadership, the ministry has established a total of seven churches across South Sudan, a remarkable achievement within just one year of his service with Jehovah Saints. This growth reflects the fulfillment of the Great Commission and the power of unity in Christ to expand the Kingdom of God, even in challenging regions. Key Scriptures Supporting the Mission 1. Matthew 28:19-20 "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." President Daniel’s work in establishing seven churches aligns with Jesus’ command to make disciples of all nations. His dedication to spreading the Gospel and building the church demonstrates obedience to this divine mandate. 2. Isaiah 54:2-3 "Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes. For you will spread out to the right and to the left; your descendants will dispossess nations and settle in their desolate cities." The expansion of Jehovah Saints in South Sudan is a testament to God’s promise of growth and multiplication. The establishment of seven churches signifies the stretching of spiritual “tent curtains” to reach more people with the message of hope and salvation. 3. Acts 2:47 "And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved." The rapid growth of Jehovah Saints churches in South Sudan reflects God’s hand at work in adding to the church. President Daniel’s leadership and the dedication of the South Sudanese believers have created fertile ground for spiritual revival. Reflection on President Daniel’s Leadership President Daniel Deng Bol Tong’s commitment to Jehovah Saints over the past year has been instrumental in spreading the Gospel in South Sudan. His efforts to lead and guide seven churches showcase his dedication to serving God and his community. Additional Scripture for Encouragement 1 Corinthians 3:6-7: "I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow. So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow." This reminds us that while President Daniel and his team have worked hard to plant and water the seeds of faith, it is God who has brought the increase. The photo of the headquarters and the seven churches under President Daniel’s leadership is a powerful symbol of the growth of Jehovah Saints in South Sudan. This work is a fulfillment of God’s promises in Scripture and a testament to the faithfulness of His servants. Let us continue to pray for President Daniel, the seven churches, and the people of South Sudan, that they may experience continued growth, unity, and spiritual revival.

  • Opening the Way for Jehovah Saints to Build Homeless Shelters and Restore Morality

Opening the Way for Jehovah Saints to Build Homeless Shelters and Restore Morality Pastor Macokebe of Jehovah Saints Church of Tanzania shared an inspiring report about his fruitful discussions with bishops and pastors from various churches. The focus of their conversations was on how to open the way for Jehovah Saints to establish homeless shelters, restore the morality and dignity of the homeless, and involve volunteers to reach and identify those in need. This mission aligns with the biblical call to care for the vulnerable and prepare the way for the Lord’s work. Pastor Macokebe drew inspiration from John the Baptist’s mission and the Scriptures that highlight the importance of preparing the way for God’s purposes. Key Scriptures Discussed 1. Isaiah 40:3-4 "A voice of one calling: ‘In the wilderness prepare the way for the Lord; make straight in the desert a highway for our God. Every valley shall be raised up, every mountain and hill made low; the rough ground shall become level, the rugged places a plain.’" This Scripture served as a foundation for the discussion. Just as John the Baptist prepared the way for Jesus, the church is called to prepare the way for God’s work by addressing the needs of the homeless. The valleys of despair and the mountains of obstacles can be leveled through faith, collaboration, and action. Reflection: The act of building homeless shelters is a modern-day example of preparing the way for the Lord. By addressing the physical and moral needs of the homeless, the church creates a pathway for them to encounter God’s love and grace. 2. John 1:23 "John replied in the words of Isaiah the prophet, ‘I am the voice of one calling in the wilderness, “Make straight the way for the Lord.”’" Pastor Macokebe emphasized how John the Baptist’s mission was to prepare the way for Christ by calling people to repentance and renewal. Similarly, the church’s mission is to prepare the way for spiritual and moral restoration by reaching out to the homeless and marginalized. Reflection: The church must act as a voice in the wilderness of society, calling people to hope, restoration, and transformation. This mission is not just about providing shelter but also about building up the moral and spiritual lives of those in need. Key Points from the Discussion Building Homeless Shelters The physical act of building shelters is a direct response to Jesus’ teaching in Matthew 25:35-36: "For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me." By creating a safe space for the homeless, the church fulfills its mandate to care for the least of these. Restoring Morality and Dignity The goal is not just to provide shelter but to restore the moral and spiritual dignity of the homeless. Proverbs 22:2 reminds us of the equality of all people before God: "Rich and poor have this in common: The Lord is the Maker of them all." Every individual, regardless of their current circumstances, has inherent value and can be restored through God’s grace. Volunteering and Reaching the Homeless Volunteers play a critical role in identifying and reaching the homeless where they are. Galatians 6:9-10 encourages believers to persevere in doing good: "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers." The church must mobilize volunteers to serve as the hands and feet of Jesus in the community. Call to Action 1. Collaborate Across Churches Unity among churches is essential for this mission. Psalm 133:1 reminds us: "How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!" By working together, churches can pool resources, share ideas, and make a greater impact. 2. Pray for Guidance and Provision The success of this mission depends on God’s guidance and provision. Philippians 4:19 assures us: "And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus." Prayer must be the foundation of every effort. 3. Engage the Community Involve the local community in supporting the homeless shelters. Hebrews 13:16 encourages us: "And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased." Pastor Macokebe’s report highlights the church’s vital role in addressing homelessness and moral restoration. By following the example of John the Baptist and preparing the way for God’s work, the church can transform lives and glorify God. Let us commit ourselves to this mission, trusting that God will use our efforts to bring hope, healing, and salvation to those in need. Closing Prayer Heavenly Father, we thank You for the opportunity to serve as Your hands and feet in this world. Help us to prepare the way for Your work by caring for the homeless and restoring their dignity. Unite Your church in this mission, and provide the resources and wisdom needed to accomplish it. May our efforts bring glory to Your name and draw many to Your kingdom. In Jesus’ name, Amen. Conclusion: Join Us in Bringing Hope to the Homeless At Jehovah Saints, we are committed to being the hands and feet of Christ by providing safe shelters, warm meals, and hope to those in need. Our mission to build homeless shelters around the world is inspired by Jesus’ words: “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me”  (Matthew 25:40). A Call to Serve: Supporting the Poor in Pakistan Request by Pastor Jamil Masih of Jehovah Saints Pakistan The Mission in Pakistan Pastor Jamil Masih is leading an initiative to serve the poor and vulnerable in Pakistan by distributing food packages to those in need. This act of love is a reflection of God’s command to care for the hungry and needy. A Request for Support Pastor Jamil humbly requests contributions to support this mission: "Please contribute wherever God leads you and puts it in your heart. Together, we can bring hope and relief to the poor." Biblical Inspiration for Feeding the Hungry 1. God’s Call to Help the Poor The Bible consistently calls us to care for the poor and meet their needs: Proverbs 22:9: “The generous will themselves be blessed, for they share their food with the poor.” Matthew 25:35: “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in.” When we feed the hungry, we are serving Christ Himself. 2. Giving with a Cheerful Heart God blesses those who give generously and joyfully: 2 Corinthians 9:7: “Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” Luke 6:38: “Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” By contributing to this mission, you are participating in God’s work and sharing His blessings. 3. Trusting God’s Provision Even in times of scarcity, God provides for His people and multiplies what is given in faith: Philippians 4:19: “And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of His glory in Christ Jesus.” John 6:11-13: “Jesus then took the loaves, gave thanks, and distributed to those who were seated as much as they wanted. He did the same with the fish. When they had all had enough to eat, He said to His disciples, ‘Gather the pieces that are left over. Let nothing be wasted.’” Your contribution, no matter how small, can be multiplied by God to bless many. Let us come together to support Pastor Jamil Masih in his mission to feed the poor in Pakistan. Your generosity can bring hope and sustenance to those in need. Key Message: "When we serve the poor, we serve Christ. Let us give with love and faith, trusting in God’s abundant provision." Perseverance in Faith The challenges faced by the church in Malawi are a testament to the faith and perseverance of its members: James 1:12: “Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love Him.” Philippians 4:19: “And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of His glory in Christ Jesus.” The church continues to stand strong, trusting in God’s provision and guidance. • Jehovah Saints Church Kenya: Sharing God’s Love on Valentine’s Day

Jehovah Saints Church Kenya: Sharing God’s Love on Valentine’s Day By Pastor Kizito Wafula Door-to-Door Ministry: A Labor of Love Pastor Kizito Wafula of Jehovah Saints Church in Kenya led a door-to-door ministry today, spreading the message of God’s love and hope. As part of this special Valentine’s Day outreach, the team showed Christ-like compassion to an elderly lady, reminding her that she is deeply loved by God. The joy on her face, as seen in the photo below, reflects the power of God’s love shared through His people. Her happiness is a reminder that true love comes from God, and it is our calling to share it with others. Biblical Inspiration for Ministry and Love 1. Showing God’s Love Through Action True love is demonstrated through acts of kindness and care for others: 1 John 3:18: “Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.” Matthew 25:40: “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” By ministering to this elderly lady, Pastor Kizito and his team embodied the love of Christ, showing that every person matters in God’s eyes. 2. God’s Love Is the Greatest Gift Valentine’s Day is often associated with human expressions of love, but the greatest love comes from God Himself: 1 John 4:8: “Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.” John 3:16: “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” The team’s ministry is a reflection of God’s unconditional love, reminding us that His love is eternal and available to all. 3. Caring for the Elderly The Bible calls us to honor and care for the elderly, showing them respect and compassion: Leviticus 19:32: “Stand up in the presence of the aged, show respect for the elderly and revere your God. I am the Lord.” Proverbs 16:31: “Gray hair is a crown of splendor; it is attained in the way of righteousness.” By spending time with this elderly lady and sharing God’s Word, the Jehovah Saints Church team honored her and reminded her of her value in God’s kingdom. 4. Spreading Joy and Hope The happiness on the elderly lady’s face reminds us of the joy that comes from knowing God’s love: Psalm 16:11: “You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.” Romans 15:13: “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” The photo of her joyful, God-filled expression is a testament to the hope and peace that comes from encountering God’s love through His people. On this Valentine’s Day, Pastor Kizito Wafula and the Jehovah Saints Church team in Kenya reminded us all of what true love looks like—selfless, Christ-centered, and filled with compassion. As we celebrate love today, let us remember to share God’s love with everyone, especially the vulnerable and forgotten. “We love because He first loved us.” (1 John 4:19) Conclusion: Join Us in Bringing Hope to the Homeless At Jehovah Saints, we are committed to being the hands and feet of Christ by providing safe shelters, warm meals, and hope to those in need. • "We Should Have Listened to God" Pastor Naveen

"We Should Have Listened to God" By Pastor Naveen Kumar Valluri – Jehovah Saints Church, India Pastor Naveen Kumar Valluri recently shared a picture of the Jehovah Saints Church members in India. His latest sermon emphasizes the importance of listening to God and obeying His Word. Key Message: God has always made His will clear, but humanity often chooses its own way, leading to dire consequences. This was evident in the story of Adam and Eve, and it continues to affect us today. Main Points of the Sermon 1. God’s Instructions Are Clear God gave Adam and Eve a direct command: Genesis 2:16-17: “And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, ‘Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.’” God’s instructions were simple and for their benefit, but they chose to listen to the serpent instead of trusting Him. 2. The Devil’s Deception The devil’s strategy is to twist God’s word and sow doubt: Genesis 3:4-5: “Then the serpent said to the woman, ‘You will not surely die. For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.’” The devil presents disobedience as something desirable, but it always leads to destruction. 3. The Consequences of Not Listening to God Adam and Eve’s disobedience brought sin and death into the world: Romans 5:12: “Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned.” When we choose to ignore God’s Word, we experience unnecessary pain, suffering, and separation from Him. 4. We Repeat the Same Mistake Just like Adam and Eve, we often know what God wants but choose our own way: Proverbs 14:12: “There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death.” Isaiah 53:6: “All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned, every one, to his own way; and the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.” Instead of trusting God, we lean on our own understanding: Proverbs 3:5-6: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” 5. The Blessing of Listening to God When we listen to God, we experience His blessings and guidance: Psalm 119:105: “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” James 1:22: “But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.” Obedience to God leads to eternal life: John 14:15: “If you love Me, keep My commandments.” Matthew 7:24-25: “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock.” Prayer Dear God, Help us to have the wisdom and good judgment to listen to Your Word. May we follow the teachings of the Holy Spirit, as inspired in the Bible. Forgive us for the times we have chosen our own way over Yours. Strengthen our faith so we can resist the devil’s temptations and walk in obedience to You. Let us live lives that honor You and lead us to eternity in heaven. In Jesus’ name, Amen. Closing Message Let us learn from Adam and Eve’s mistake. God’s way is always the best way. The consequences of “doing it our way” are too great to bear. Let’s commit to listening to God and obeying His Word. Let’s go to heaven together. I love you. • Pastor Kizito Wafula of Jehovah Saints Church, Kenya

Pastor Kizito Wafula of Jehovah Saints Church, Kenya Pastor Kizito Wafula from Jehovah Saints Church in Kenya recently shared some wonderful pictures of his congregation. Along with the photos, he shared details about a powerful sermon titled: "Sail Through Your Storm" The sermon focused on the question: "When the storms come, what do you do?" It encouraged believers to trust in God’s guidance and strength during life’s challenges. Here are some scriptures that align with the message of the sermon: Isaiah 43:2 – "When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze." This verse reminds us that God is always with us, even in the midst of life’s storms. Psalm 107:29 – "He stilled the storm to a whisper; the waves of the sea were hushed." A powerful reminder of God’s ability to calm any storm in our lives. Mark 4:39-40 – "He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, 'Quiet! Be still!' Then the wind died down and it was completely calm. He said to His disciples, 'Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?'" Jesus shows us that faith is the key to overcoming fear in the midst of life’s challenges. Philippians 4:6-7 – "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." A reminder to turn to God in prayer when storms arise, trusting in His peace to sustain us. Pastor Wafula’s sermon is a timely encouragement for all believers to remain steadfast in faith and rely on God’s power to sail through life’s storms. • Pastor Jamil Masih of Jehovah Saints Church in Kasur, Pakistan

Pastor Jamil Masih of Jehovah Saints Church in Kasur, Pakistan, delivered a powerful sermon on the topic of "The Resurrection of Jesus Christ." He explained: "Jesus Christ’s resurrection means He rose from the dead after His crucifixion. This event proves His divine power and victory over death, offering hope for eternal life. Through His resurrection, believers are assured of salvation and the promise of life after death." To emphasize the significance of the resurrection, Pastor Jamil shared the following key points supported by scripture: 1. The Resurrection Proves Jesus’ Divine Power Romans 1:4 "And who through the Spirit of holiness was appointed the Son of God in power by His resurrection from the dead: Jesus Christ our Lord." The resurrection confirms Jesus as the Son of God, demonstrating His divine authority and power over sin and death. John 11:25-26 "Jesus said to her, 'I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?'" Jesus proclaimed Himself as the source of life, and His resurrection validated this truth. 2. The Resurrection Offers Victory Over Death 1 Corinthians 15:55-57 "Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting? The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." Through His resurrection, Jesus defeated death and gave believers the ultimate victory. Revelation 1:18 "I am the Living One; I was dead, and now look, I am alive forever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades." Jesus’ resurrection signifies His eternal life and authority over death. 3. The Resurrection Assures Salvation and Eternal Life 1 Peter 1:3 "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In His great mercy He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead." Believers have a living hope and assurance of salvation because of Jesus’ resurrection. John 14:19 "Because I live, you also will live." Jesus promised eternal life to all who believe in Him, rooted in the fact of His resurrection. 4. The Resurrection Is Central to the Gospel 1 Corinthians 15:17 "And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins." Pastor Jamil emphasized that the resurrection is the foundation of the Christian faith. Without it, there would be no salvation or forgiveness of sins. Romans 6:9 "For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, He cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over Him." Jesus’ resurrection is a once-for-all victory, and His eternal life is the assurance of our faith. 5. The Promise of Life After Death Philippians 3:10-11 "I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of His resurrection and participation in His sufferings, becoming like Him in His death, and so, somehow, attaining to the resurrection from the dead." Believers are invited to share in Christ’s resurrection and the promise of eternal life. 1 Thessalonians 4:14 "For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in Him." The resurrection assures that believers who die in Christ will also be raised to eternal life. Pastor Jamil concluded his sermon by encouraging the congregation to reflect on the hope and assurance provided by Jesus’ resurrection: It is a demonstration of God’s power. It is the foundation of our faith. It is the source of hope for eternal life. He urged believers to live in the light of this victory, trusting in the promise of salvation and sharing the good news of the resurrection with others. This message of hope and victory through Jesus’ resurrection continues to inspire faith and strengthen the assurance of eternal life for all who believe.
