"So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the crawling locust, the consuming locust, and the chewing locust, My great army which I sent among you."— Joel 2:25 (NKJV)
📖 Unpacking the Scripture
In Joel 2, Israel had suffered total devastation. Swarms of locusts—described in four distinct stages of destruction—had left their land, economy, and spirits completely barren. To make matters worse, this drought and destruction was a direct result of their own spiritual straying.
When we read Joel 2:25, two profound spiritual truths stand out:
The God of Complete Restoration: The four stages of locusts represent total, lingering loss. Yet God doesn't just promise to give back the crops; He promises to restore the years. God can redeem time that felt wasted, lost, or ruined by grief, bad decisions, or seasons of trial.
The Turnaround of Repentance: God’s promise comes right after Israel turned back to Him "with all your heart, with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning" (Joel 2:12). God’s heart isn't to leave us in ruin—it's to draw us back so He can heal us.
Whatever "locust season" you’ve walked through, God has the power to bring beauty, fruitfulness, and double blessings back into your life.
🔗 Connecting Scriptures on God’s Restoration
To ground your faith in God’s promise to make things new, keep these verses close:
Beauty from the Ashes:
"To console those who mourn in Zion, to give them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness..."
— Isaiah 61:3
Double for Your Trouble:
"Return to the stronghold, you prisoners of hope. Even today I declare that I will restore double to you."
— Zechariah 9:12
Renewed Youth and Strength:
"Who satisfies your mouth with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s."
— Psalm 103:5
Grace Over Past Mistakes:
"And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose."
— Romans 8:28
💬 Takeaway for Today
You may feel like you’ve lost years to anxiety, bad choices, illness, or waiting. But with God, no season is truly wasted. He is standardizing a comeback in your life that will outweigh the setback. Trust Him with your past—He holds your future!

John 14:6 (KJV)
Jesus saith unto him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me (Jesus)."
📜 The Prayer
“I pray for Jehovah to speak through me all the time,
and I pray for Jehovah to remove all my thoughts
and give me your thoughts all the time,
as I do not even want my thoughts.”
In Jesus Name I pray amen!
