John Chapter 21: Verse 25 (KJV)

"And there are also many other things that Jesus did, which, if they should be written, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen."

The Gospel of John closes with one of the most awe-inspiring statements ever recorded in Scripture. After carefully documenting miracles, teachings, conversations, acts of mercy, and displays of divine power, John pauses and reminds us that what has been written is only a small glimpse of the fullness of Jesus Christ.

Imagine standing on the shore of an endless ocean and gathering a single handful of water. That handful represents what is recorded in the Gospels, while the vast ocean represents the countless works, words, wonders, and acts of love performed by our Lord. John, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, tells us that the ministry of Jesus was so magnificent that the world itself could not contain all the books that would be written if every detail were recorded.

This verse reveals the limitless greatness of Christ. Jesus was not merely a teacher who walked the dusty roads of Galilee. He was, and is, the eternal Word of God, the Creator of all things, the Sustainer of life, and the Savior of mankind. Every step He took carried eternal significance. Every person He touched experienced the power of Heaven. Every word He spoke contained wisdom deeper than the oceans and higher than the heavens.

How many hungry mouths did He feed beyond those recorded? How many tears did He wipe away? How many broken hearts found hope through His presence? How many lives were transformed by a simple glance, a compassionate touch, or a word of grace? The Bible does not tell us every detail, but it tells us enough to know that His works were beyond human ability to fully document.

There is also a beautiful message of hope hidden within this verse. If the world could not contain the record of all that Jesus did during His earthly ministry, then surely His work has not ended. Today, Christ continues to save souls, answer prayers, heal wounded hearts, restore families, comfort the afflicted, strengthen believers, and draw people to Himself. The story of Jesus is still being written in the lives of those who trust Him.

John's final words encourage us to realize that there is always more to discover about Christ. The deeper we search the Scriptures, the more we learn of His character. The longer we walk with Him, the greater our understanding becomes. Yet even after a lifetime of study, worship, and service, we will only have begun to understand the magnitude of His glory.

One day, when believers stand in the presence of the King of Kings, we will see the fullness of what earthly pages could never contain. We will behold the Lamb of God in all His majesty and understand that every recorded miracle was merely a glimpse of His infinite greatness.

Until that day, let us read His Word, trust His promises, follow His example, and praise His holy name, knowing that the Savior we serve is far greater than any book could ever describe.

In Jesus name I pray amen!
