The Kingmaker: Meet Samuel 👑

Samuel wasn't just a prophet; he was the ultimate bridge between two eras of Israel's history. He transitioned the nation from being led by local judges to being a united kingdom under a monarch. Talk about a high-pressure job! 😅

📖 The Scriptural Context

Samuel’s life was dedicated to God from the very beginning. After hearing God’s voice as a young boy, he grew into a leader whose words "never fell to the ground." His most famous assignment? Finding and anointing the first two kings of Israel: Saul and David.

✨ Deep Dive: The Verse Explained

While Samuel’s story spans several chapters, his mission is perfectly captured here:

"Then Samuel took a flask of oil and poured it on Saul’s head and kissed him, saying, 'Has not the Lord anointed you ruler over his inheritance?'" — 1 Samuel 10:1

What’s actually happening here?

  • The Oil: Anointing with oil was a physical sign of a spiritual reality. It represented being set apart by God for a specific, holy purpose.

  • The Choice: Even though Samuel was the one holding the flask, he made it clear that the choice belonged to God, not him.

  • The Burden: Samuel warned the people that having a king would change everything, but he remained faithful to God's direction even when it was difficult.

🛡️ Supporting Scriptures

If you want to dig deeper into Samuel's legacy as the Kingmaker, check these out:

  • 1 Samuel 3:19 – "The Lord was with Samuel as he grew up, and he let none of Samuel’s words fall to the ground." (His credibility was unmatched!)

  • 1 Samuel 16:13 – "So Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed [David] in the presence of his brothers, and from that day on the Spirit of the Lord came powerfully upon David."

  • Acts 13:20 – "...God gave them judges until the time of Samuel the prophet."

🌟 Why It Matters Today

Samuel reminds us that being a leader often means preparing the way for others. He had the humility to step back so that kings could step forward. Whether you’re the "king" or the "kingmaker" in your circle, doing it with integrity is what counts! 🙌✨

📜 The Prayer

“I pray for Jehovah to speak through me all the time,

and I pray for Jehovah to remove all my thoughts

and implant your thoughts Father all the time,

as I do not even want my thoughts.”

In Jesus Name I pray, Amen
