✨ The Standard of Goodness ✨

Have you ever thought about what it actually means to be "good"? Often, we compare ourselves to others, but Jesus raises the bar to a heavenly level. 🏔️
📖 The Scripture
Mark 10:18 & Luke 18:19 (EHV): "Jesus said to him, 'Why do you call me good? No one is good except one—God.'"
💡 What is Jesus actually saying?
At first glance, it might seem like Jesus is saying He isn't God. But look closer! He was speaking to a rich young ruler who likely used the word "good" as a polite, casual greeting.
Jesus wasn't denying His divinity; He was challenging the man’s definition. He was essentially asking: "Do you realize what you’re saying? If you call me 'Good,' you are acknowledging that I am God."
Key Takeaways:
True Goodness is Divine: Human "goodness" is relative, but God’s goodness is the absolute standard.
The Need for Grace: By reminding us that only God is truly good, Jesus highlights why we need Him. We can't "earn" our way to heaven by being "good enough."
The Identity of Christ: Jesus invites the man (and us) to recognize Him not just as a "good teacher," but as the Lord of Life. 👑
✝️ More Truth to Hold On To
If only God is good, how do we stand before Him? These verses complete the picture:
Romans 3:23: "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." 📉
Psalm 145:9: "The Lord is good to all, and his compassion is over all that he has made." ❤️
2 Corinthians 5:21: "God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God." 🔄
🙌 Reflection for Today
Stop trying to be "good enough" on your own strength. Instead, lean into the only One who truly is. When we follow Jesus, we aren't just following a "good man"—we are following Goodness Himself.

John 14:6
Evangelical Heritage Version
Jesus said to him, “I am the Way and the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father, 'except through me' (Jesus)."
This is why we end our prayer "In 'Jesus'Name' I pray amen!"
📜 The Prayer
“I pray for Jehovah to speak through me all the time,
and I pray for Jehovah to remove all my thoughts
and give me your thoughts Father all the time,
as I do not even want my thoughts.”
In Jesus Name I pray amen!
