Desiring Mercy Over Sacrifice

Hosea 6:6"For I desire mercy, not sacrifice, and acknowledgment of God rather than burnt offerings."

Mercy over Ritual: In ancient Israel, religious rituals like burnt offerings and sacrifices were commanded by God. However, the people began relying on external rituals while their hearts remained distant, unrepentant, and cold toward others.
True Knowledge of God: God makes it clear through Hosea that heart transformation—loving-kindness (hesed in Hebrew), mercy, and true relationship with Him—is what He truly values over empty religious routines.
