The Hebrew word used here for "hope" (qavah) implies an active, expectant waiting. It isn't passive sitting around; it's placing your trust and expectation fully in God.
"...will renew their strength."
To "renew" literally means to exchange or trade. You are trading your finite, exhausted human energy for God’s infinite, divine power.
"They will soar on wings like eagles..."
Eagles don't constantly flap their wings to fly; they catch thermal updrafts (warm rising air) to soar effortlessly above storms. When you rely on God, He carries you over life's harsh winds instead of letting you get battered by them.
