Psalm 121:8

"The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore."

Known as a Song of Ascents, Psalm 121 was originally sung by pilgrims traveling through dangerous terrain on their journey up to Jerusalem. Verse 8 provides profound reassurance for every stage of our daily life and spiritual journey:

Complete Daily Protection ("Thy going out and thy coming in"): This phrase encompasses every movement, journey, and endeavor of your life. Whether you are stepping out into a new season, going to work, or returning home to rest, God’s vigilant eye watches over every step you take.
A Divine Promise ("The Lord shall preserve"): Preservation means to be kept, guarded, and sustained. We do not walk through life unprotected or relying solely on human strength; the Creator of heaven and earth personally guarantees our safety and spiritual protection.
Eternal Faithfulness ("From this time forth, and even for evermore"): God’s care is not temporary, nor is it limited to specific moments. His covenant protection covers you right now, extends through every season of your earthly life, and endures into eternity.
